Reviews for Rubio's Coastal Grill in Foothill Ranch, CA
Last time I come to this location. The lady at the register was incredibly rude and seemed to be bothered by everything I said.... I let her know in the nicest way possible that my bowl had most pieces of chicken completely charred, and she tried to convinceme that that ?was normal and how it was supposed to look?, I showed her that the pieces were completely black with little to noedible parts, and she kept repeating how it was normal. I asked if I could have a side of chicken (instead of a whole bowl) andshe gave it to me and proceeded to give me a death stare as if I was being unreasonable? I even thanked her and told her Iunderstand some pieces can get burnt but not to that degree, I couldn?t possibly eat that. I wish had gotten a new bowl as thisone was full with charred pieces of coal or ?chicken? and ruined the flavor. But the lady at the registered seemed way tooannoyed and I did not want to get into a whole argument after a bowl. I just threw away the whole thing. I used to come hereevery week, I?ll just proceed to never come to this location again. Get some better workers. Read more
I was bummed when my two hometown Rubios closed in sonoma county recently but thrilled to find this one in Lake Forest where I... was staying on a recent biz trip. I got the burrito especial all three nights of my stay and it was as good as ever!Consistently delicious and fast, friendly service too. Read more
Food is usually real good ! But this time my battered fish taco (from coastal trio) was literally all batter... no fish.... Couldn?t even eat it and ruined my meal. Also the young lady with black hair that helped us at the register seemed like shehated her life, could barely hear her talk and was definitely in a horrible mood. Read more
I love the tacos at this place. The mahi mahi cajun style tacos are so good, and so are the shrimp. What I love best is the... churros! They're perfectly gooey in the center and so covered with cinnamon and sugar on the outside it melts in your mouth, andan even crunchiness to it. I reccomend doing the cajun shrimp tacos or the mahi tacos. The battered fish is really great too butif you order take out and wait long, the fish will get soggy. So be careful! Plus no tarter sauce???????????? kind of overpricedfor the quality and the portion of sides. Overall really enjoy their food though, especially the mahi and the churros. Theyhave vegetarian tacos as well! Read more
Jan. 2020-- I made the mistake of giving the tacos another try. I appearently forgot about my last experience and had the same... tacos (because I love tacos)!! And they were just as disappointing for the most part. At $5 each taco, I was pretty let downwhen I saw my $15 lunch come out. The steak taco barely had anything in it except for a piece of avocado and little pieces ofsteak. It looks like nothing's changed since two months ago when I thought it was just a fluke that my taco portions were sosmall. Nov. 2019-- Fish tacos were good. Street taco too small, not worth the money. Steak tacos not substantial enough for$4.5. Read more

It's been years since I ate there. And for good reason. The portions aren't as plentyfull as they used to be from years ago. I... ordered two fish tacos with chips and beans. The beans were bland. The chips were stale. Guess it'll be a while before I stepinto that place again...??????? Read more
