A MUST SEE in SW Virginia!!! Live Bluegrass Music?ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! The Floyd Country Store hosts (and streams on YouTube)... their Bluegrass Jamboree; a weekly event each Friday night which includes local-style dancing!) Sunday?s at 4pm they have aBluegrass Jam Circle for novices to sit in on and play with locals. The store gives space for local artisans selling handcrafteditems and farm to table goods. We found an old time microphone, made from our home state of Oregon, specifically for Bluegrassmusicians! To top it all off?.they have a Soda Fountain/Ice Cream parlor adjacent and attached! Floyd County Store is a great place to eat, listen to music and to shop for items that can only be found at the country store. ... You can select from many tasty sandwiches and entrees. What a great time! The New Year?s Eve celebration was so much fun! The music was great and the dancing cannot be beat. Every... hour there was a fun raffle. A fantastic experience. We went to see my son and his friend play in the Sunday bluegrass jam circle. SO glad we did! This store... is a charming, must-see. The circle is a delightful blend of talented, happy to play musicians. We were thoroughly delighted. Weshopped a little and sat down to enjoy some chili and cornbread all while happily listening to the joyous music. Everyone wasfriendly and down to earth, real people it was my pleasure to meet. There is live bluegrass music on a stage that is set up for live recording. We?ve been here twice and the musicians were... excellent both times AND they always seem to be having a great time. The restaurant has an interesting and varied menu and thecountry store has old fashioned items for sale. This place is exactly what you would expect from a ?country store? and it is somuch fun!
