This review is for the restaurants lunch menu. When Morrisette built their new winery building next door, this opened up the... entire original mountain top location they shared to a full service eatery. Probably a good thing as well. The place was packedon the Saturday we visited. It was a beautiful day for a mountain drive to be fair though, so this may not be the norm. The macand cheese appetizer was Wonderful and the best my wife has ever tried. I had the blackened catfish with fries, while the wifehad the skillet fried chicken sandwich with salad. Catfish was perfectly cooked and the remoulade was tangy but didn'toverpower. The pickled celery should be sold at their store to take home. The potato skins were toothpick thin and crisp and anice touch, but the wife thought they might be confused as bones because of their size and texture. I chose to trust their fishmonger and didn't offer her another sample. Her chicken sandwich was crispy and had a nice sweet honey flavored sauce thatflavored the bread nicely but we both thought the chicken though tasty, was a bit rubbery. Her salad was crisp and the dressingwas very nice. Can't wait to return and try more of their menu, which I understand changes regularly. Go and enjoy. Oh and theyhave some pretty incredible wines as well. Read more

Chateau Morrisette is all around a great restaurant. Starting with the excellent staff, to the majestic views, the wonderful... cuisine, and of course, the fantastic wine, everything was a delight. The cheeseboard included a locally produced cheese thathad a delightful taste and texture somewhere between brie and aged cheddar. The housemade preserve and pickled grapeaccoutrements were very nice. For the entrees, the Heritage Pork Chop served with grilled red cabbage, smashed peas, and pureedcarrot was delicous. The Duck Leg Confit a'la Orange was also excellent. For desert, the panna cotta with preserved cherrieswas delightful. The orange cream sorbet was also very tasty. The staff was very friendly, prompt and professional from startto finish. In summary, our experience was everything that we would expect from a solid 5-star restaurant. Read more

Excellent lunch with my wife which we would actually rate probably a 4.5. After hiking nearby, I had shrimp and grits and my... wife had the soup and smoked trout salad. All was really good bit not quite great. The grits were a little underdone and thedish seemed slightly small. Soup was very good along with the salad. Overall a very enjoyable meal up in the mountains Read more
