Reviews for Chens Family Dish in Florence, OR
They have always offered good food. The service can be slow, but the wait is worth it. Unlike many other places in Florence they... haven't increased their prices by absurd amounts, either, so you can still get a lunch and not break the bank. Worth a visit. Read more

Food was good with large portions and friendly employees
Not the most awful Chinese food I've had, but its far from good. It is barely even OK or mediocre. Tons of people in town rant... and rave about it so I gave it a good try. I ate here at least three or four times with my wife and we ordered a variety ofdishes. None impressed us at all. In fact most of them were quite disappointing, bland, and just not very good. If you likeit, good for you. For us though, it is a hard pass. Read more
Nice enough place. Not too busy. Food was good but not great. Our server was helping due to staff shortage! She was... wonderful and very friendly. It did take some time to get acknowledged when we first came in, however once they noticed we wereseated quickly. The chicken subgum was very celery forward, very few chow mein noodles, the mar far chicken and shrimp wereokay it pretty much tastes like everyone else's. There was something about the fried rice that was off putting for us. Likeanyone we have had better, and we have had worse. The crab puffs were hot and fresh and tasty. One downfall it would be niceif they had bigger water glasses and you didn't have to ask for a refill! One small note would be they really need to clean thetables off and make sure they are clean after each diner. Like any normal Chinese restaurant, the tables are always sticky. Itwas good enough to try once. We do agree with other diners they give you enough to need a to go box before you start eating. Read more
Best Chinese food that I have had in the longest time. Everything we have ordered has been outstanding. Prices are reasonable... and portions are awesome. The staff is very friendly too. The chefs do a great job at preparing the food. The menu is quiteextensive. Unfortunately, we not from the area. We travel in our RV around the nation. I?m sad we can?t have this restaurantin our home state of Florida. Do yourself a favor and come here. You won?t regret! Read more
Outstanding food for a great price. We come down to Florence every so often for the ATV recreation areas and have tried most of... the restaurants in town. Chen's has quickly become one of our favorites, but come hungry, or be prepared to bring half yourplate home because they serve A LOT of food. Highly recommend. Read more
We had been here about 10 years ago. We remember it being good but not just how good. Unassuming place located in Florence, OR,... we were seated as soon as we walked in. Menus given and within seconds we had ice waters and hot tea brought without request. Ilike that. We ordered from the lunch menu, she lad the Lemon Chicken and I had the General Tso's Chicken. With the orderplaced, our soup, Egg Flower, arrived. More hearty than most I was surprised to find it full of noodles and veggies. Verygood. Our main dishes arrived quickly considering it's made fresh. We both tried tastes of each others and our conclusions arethe same. Both dishes came with stir fried rice and crab puffs. The Lemon chicken was very good. A large chicken breast, butterflied into two pieces, lightly bread and cooked to a perfect light crispness. The lemon sauce was delicious, a nice blendof tart and sweetness. It was fresh and hot. The King of the castle... was General Tso's chicken. I'm a bit of a foodie, with alove of cooking, and I can't figure out how they do it. The chunks of chicken are battered and fried until heavenly perfectionis reached. The outside was crisp, but just the outer part. The inner batterer was cooked, (not doughy,) and soft. At thecenter, a perfectly cooked piece of chicken. The sauce was a mouthwatering perfect combination of sweetness and spice. This allcombined to the best dish at a Chinese restaurant I've ever had. The best. All this at a cost of $21.50! The staff wereprompt, attentive and professional. The restaurant itself looked very clean and a all but one employee was wearing a mask.Surprising seeing the CDC removed the need... Long story short, if you want great Chinese food in Florence, OR, Go to Chen's! Read more
