Under new management, the food was exceptional and the ambiance delightful. From the tomato and cucumber salad (fresh and lively... flavors) to the cold appetizer platter (the hummus, lebneh, and baba ganoush were creamy and luscious) to the hot appetizers(zucchini pancakes were a favorite) to the main (we did the sampler platter and it was hard to pick a favorite) to dessert(perfect balance of sweet and crunch complemented by sweet and strong authentic Turkish coffee). This was a celebration, but welook forward to returning for dinner on a regular basis (and a less elaborate but no less delicious meal) Read more
I have only ordered delivery so this review only speaks for the food, not the service. I've ordered almost one of every entree... at least once and have never been disappointed. The lamb shank is my favourite. They always include a little home made yogurtwith every order and it's great. Read more
6pm on a Wednesday. No heat inside the restaurant, kind of like eating inside a refrigerator. Ordered lamb, received chicken.... Not cheap - $69 for two apps and meals. That said, the food was delicious. Maybe would've been four stars if we had done takeoutinstead of dining in. Read more
This restaurant has been on my bucket list of restaurants to try, since it's in my area and has very good Google reviews. I... wasn't disappointed. The olives & bread bought to the table were very tasty. I ordered the lamb shank. It was HUGE &fall-off-the-bone delicious. Just the right amount of spices & not too salty. Will definitely be going back again. Read more
Istanbul ComboLamb Casserole Pancaga Boregi (4pcs) My husband and I had just finished hiking and decided to have a quick diner... in the area. Since we are from Germany and live in NYC, we know Turkish cuisine very well. Pros: Nice decoration, nice music, big tables for families, real table cloths and napkins, hand sanitizer everywhere. We loved their house made bread, fresh. Cons: 1- For the appetizer we ordered Pancaga Boregi (4pcs) they served us 3 pcs. We asked the waiter why there is only3 pcs he said it is only three (we even brought the menu to check how many pcs and the menu says 4 pcs) 2- We had LambCasserole, which does not taste like lamb rather beef. The rice and the burghul were cold and definitely not fresh. 3- We hadIstanbul grilled combo ($26) for half of the size of regular Turkish meat. 3 pcs of chicken, 2 pcs of lamb, 2 pcs of liver. Thedoner was totally burned and dry. We had to eat since we had a long hike and did not eat since breakfast, other than that wewould not go back 4- We asked for water (tape water) but the waiter brought two bottle of water (which was not what we askedfor) I have been working in fancy restaurants since I moved to NYC and bartending in a Michelin restaurant during the weekendand I would always ask would you like bottle or tape (out of respect for the customers) Read more
