I went in not knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. It's got an inviting atmosphere and I didn't wait long to be... seated. Even though it's a small restaurant it has a revolving door so you won't have to wait long to be seated. I tried theirfamous De Lujo Margarita which is made with top shelf Don Julio tequila. It has a smooth, sweet and sour taste to it! Also, thetacos I had were authentic to what I'd taste if I were in Texas. The meat was very tender it melted in my mouth! Consider this review two for one! I used to come here once a week a few years ago, and now my boyfriend and I come here almost... every week. This is the best Mexican food in Madison. We have tried almost every Mexican restaurant in the Madison area andnothing beats Tapatios! The drinks, food, atmosphere and service are top notch. It?s a small family restaurant and there aremoments when they are booked and busy but it is worth the wait. The owners and staff are wonderful people and veryaccommodating. Might be my new fave for Mexican food and solid margaritas. It?s an unassuming small spot in a strip mall. Easy parking right in... front. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice informed wait staff. Was our first time and tried a bit of everything - allincredibly good. The margaritas were solid. Tried the Jamaican mainly to see how hibiscus was integrated into this cocktail. Wasgood but can?t beat the De Lujo !!! Having just one is a feat of self restraint (good luck). The item we both were totallyblown away by was MULITAS. It is delicious well seasoned and crisp served with the side of broth to dunk in. Menu has veganoptions as well. Had plenty of leftovers because we tried several things. My wife love's the birria tacos, with the dipping consome. My choice was the fajitas combo, very tasty also. Fajitas comes with... rice , beans and some guacamole. Only thing we didn't apreciate was that the chips were not too crispy. We have been here twiceso far, we will go back sometime.. Thanks to the Tapatios crew. Read more
