Got take out chicken Picatta. Maybe 5 bites of chicken at best. Was the "country style." Paid over 20 bucks. Felt like I... needed a shower afterwards. Go to IL camino. Read more

I've come to the conclusion that Italian might be the hardest cuisine to do really well. Pretty Good Italian is easy, but... getting over the hump to something truly special is very difficult. Dario's sits firmly in that "Pretty Good" category. It's waybetter than you're going to get at a chain restaurant, and probably better than you're going to get outside of a city thatdoesn't have a Little Italy. But there's just something not quite there. The trick to Italian cooking, I think, is finding theright balance of flavors, and out of the four dishes and two appetizers we tried, most were kinda bland and one was weaponizedgarlic. I'd give them somewhere between three and four stars, but I can't, so let's give them the benefit of the doubt and roundup to four. Read more

if you judge this excellent local restaurant from its exterior you are missing out. A good friend brought me here and I loved... it. The owner Elmer chatted with us at the bar and was very meticulous in checking that my vegetarian order was exactly that.Greg the bartender is super knowledgeable about every variety of cocktail and both Elmer and Greg were super nice folks to getto know. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. Highly recommend for the friendly staff and excellent food. ExcellentTequila selection. Peroni beer. Yay. Garlic knots are not to miss! Read more

Good food, good service and sketchy looking area. Been here few times, scallops were very good, seems to be the regular... 'special'. Chicken parmesan was thin, tough and needed knife to cut, wouldn't order again. Service is good. Try it, you mightlike it! Read more

My experience from December 2015 at Dario's Ristorante in Fitchburg: I have been wanting to go to Dario's for a long time (since... they opened) mostly because nearly everyone that has been there in our Facebook group Discussing Fitchburg Now raves about it(and posts pictures which is all the better to fuel my jealousy). Got there are 7:30pm Saturday evening... place was quitebusy.... most tables full... but not full enough to have to wait. Nice ambiance...comfy/cozy, nice enough to dress up but laidback enough to wear jeans. They have a nice low-top full bar next to where the chef cooks which looks nice to sit at.... Therestaurant temperature was warm which was nice---so often i have to wear my jacket in restaurants because they keep it so cold!Dario's was toasty warm... I appreciated it. They brought the drinks and a basket of bread right out of the oven with oil andParmesan cheese....loved that. So good. I got a Dario Espresso Martini (Black) which was good and my spouse got a Peroni(Italian beer). Ordered a fried ravioli appetizer... came with marinara sauce... was fast and excellent. Good sauce... perfectraviolis stuffed with cheese. mmMm We got the Salmon Grand Mariner special with fettuccine and the 14oz New York Strip SteakSpecial with Risotto... the chef walked over and started making our meal to order... he was very nice and asked us personallyhow it was...and it was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly (so i heard from all the satisfied noises)...and the risottowas also delicious and perfect. My Salmon was also delicious and the fettuccine had this sauce that was ridiculous good...kindasweet, very creamy....I ate was too much and had to literally push it away so i'd stop.... got that doggie bag to go ;-) Theplace closed kinda early... we were the last table and left around 8:30pm. So don't go late... Two thumbs up for sure... Thegeneral consensus is correct. The food was worth the calories. Read more
