I want this place to be our go to place. It’s in our neighborhood, convenient, and we enjoy the pizza and other food... but….the wait staff are just not good. They are inattentive, unaware, and seem to have no training. They don’t keep thenapkin dispensers on the tables, they have them lined up on a shelf. When we asked they brought us a dispenser from the shelf. We witnessed this with 3 other tables. We had to ask for silverware. We have been here 5-6 times and the order has always beenscrewed up. We just asked about our order and they just told us they had to remake it because they made it wrong. Thatwouldn’t even be a problem except it literally is freezing in here. I asked them to turn up the heat, the response was theowner has the key to the thermostat and they can’t. Unfortunate because I really do want this to be our neighborhood placebut I am losing hope. This a tough review…. This is one of the best pizza I have had in Indiana. Goodfellas (broad ripple), lou monti's,... Puccini’s, bazbeaux, and now Saxony is my top 5. I have had both the Detroit style and normal pizza here bothexcellent. Breadstick ???? and mozzarella stick ???? So why 4 stars? The staff is friendly enough but young, not organize, and not attentive. My first experience was door dash, ordered after a long day, took 1hr 45min to get my pie and it cold. (Ilive 10 minutes from there). Didn’t complain heated it up and was good to go. We were seated right away didn’t get menus hadto get up after 15 minutes and get my own. After 15 minutes later my server arrived we bombarded her with appetizers, dinner, and drinks. Order got messed up. The guy next to us was waiting 45 min for a pie, the comped him and gave us 50% off my kidspizza. Another couple had to get up to ask for menus, ask to get drunk orders, ask to order, and ask for a check. They are superfriendly but man UNORGANIZED! This place could be a staple. For what you charge for pizza I don’t understand or you don’thire competent people. Read more
The pizza is good but unfortunately I’ve gotten the wrong order multiple times. The most recent time I ordered $70 worth of... food for delivery (via a 3rd party delivery service) and did not get either of the two pizzas I ordered. The driver came withonly breadsticks. The restaurant confirmed they just never made the pizzas despite having the order on file. They remade thepizzas an hour later and had me come to pick them up, which obviously defeats the purpose of placing a delivery order. That isnot the first time I’ve encountered the same problem, regardless of the method of ordering (3rd party delivery, online throughthe restaurant website, or ordering over the phone) so it’s clearly a problem with the restaurant and not the deliverycompany. I hate that I have to take action this way, but I can always make a retraction to this. Several weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon... I placed an online order for a detroit style pizza and two side salads. I did this at 5:00 and said I wanted to pick up at 6:30.They brought out the food and when I got home realized that there was only one salad and the pizza not a detroit style and wascold, stale and just not good. It's like they made it at 5:00 when I placed the order and it then sat until 6:30. I called themanager and he was very appologetic and said he'd certainly take it off my charge. I thanked him and understood that mistakesare made. Two weeks goes by and no refund on my credit card of $52.10. I've called and left messages to call me. I evenchatted with the hostess and gave her a message. No return call. I like this place, but with treatment such as this, I mostlikely won't be going to Saxony's again. Read more

I'm afraid to give this such a great review, selfishly, in fear of letting one of the best kept secrets out of the bag. This... review is about their regular pizza, not the Detroit style. Don't be disuaded by the deeper dish style, because their "normal"style is out of this world. We avoided for so long in fear of trying the Detroit style only to find out they offered more. Thispizza hits differently - the traditional style is so unassuming that it's brilliant. It's flavorful, just greasy enough to bewhat you want in a pizza, and the cheese has that nice balance of chew and stretchiness. It doesn't have a crust, but insteadgoes edge-to-edge (mostly). The bread sticks are wonderful, albeit highly inconsistent in size and doneness. Overall, trytheir traditional style pizza. It may become your favorite Read more
