The Sandbar (formerly Sandy Bottoms) is the only Amelia Island restaurant that?s right-on-the-beach, so score points for... location. The new owners have made major improvements to the menu: the Buffalo wings are terrific, the local Mayport shrimpalways done to perfection, the burgers are great and the crab soup is to die for. Add to that a Great service staff and wideselection of beers. The new owners have gotten rid of the live ?entertainment? on the beach deck that was so loud in the Olddays that you couldn?t have a conversation ? a great improvement! Read more
Great views and service was good, kitchen got slammed and food came out all over the place. Ken was on his game and kept us... posted on all that, along with drinks. Come for happy hour, the calamari was the best thing we got. The kids tenders clearlyhand breaded and quite good. Pass on the seafood. Read more
Perfect place on the north end of Amelia Island. We had a table with umbrella literally on the beach which was amazing as we... wanted to sit on the beach and didn't have beach chairs or towels. We ordered the fish bites and chicken nachos with extra quesowith a variety of drinks (wine, frozen specialties and martinis). They offer happy hour from 3-6 on house wines and liquor. We're here o vacation. Nice place, right on the beach. Excellent location. Right in the middle of the busiest part of the... Fernandina beach area. Upstairs and patio seating too. Live music. Good food and drinks, good service. I had a blue cheesepecan salad with grilled shrimp. It was delicious. And we had peeal and eat shrimp for an appetizer. Large shrimp and aplentiful amount. Had an early dinner around 4pm and the place was just getting busy before I left around 5pm. Great catch of the day Seared Aji... fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. Wish I had more time to stay and try more of the menu! Pizzas left pled and smelledamazing from the pizza oven viewable from the dining area! Good service too! Read more
Great, our waitress was great, helped with our decision for our meal. Friendly best waitress in a long long time. Grouper/... coleslaw,, BLT/ hush puppies, great taste, hot, bacon is their blend of hint of sweet goodness. Very nicely decorated. Amust try & see. Read more
Nice place to sit, relax and enjoy a meal beachside. A few things were unable to be ordered due to the restaurant not having... adequate supplies. Overall experience was good. The place was clean and the restrooms actually had HOT water! Great outsideseating! Read more
Beach bar, right on the sand. They have a small menu and a Happy Hour from 3-6. The service was ok even though it wasn't very... busy. We had beef nachos. The plating for the nachos did not look very appealing and they were very salty. Come for the happyhour drinks and skip the nachos. Read more
