Reviews for Lotus in Farmingdale, NY
Got take out here for the first time and was so impressed that I was able to get a really generous portion (for lunch) for a... great price!!! What I thought was going to be a side of hot and sour soup turned out to be a really large portion (that camewith the lunch special). Everything was packaged neatly and they provided all utensils and sauces too. They even gave mecomplimentary tea. The pad thai lunch I got with veggie fried rice was great too (only suggestion is that they put a little moresauce on the pad thai). Also loved that my food was still hot by the time I got back to my desk... including the soup! Theservice inside was very friendly. I will order from here again, no doubt! Read more
This is how you do takeout! Haven?t had a bad meal yet and don?t expect to.
We waited soo long to be even spoken to let alone served. The waiter was clumsy and missed sending us parts of our order until... late. The food was bland and not very tasty. The only positives - food was nicely displayed and the waiter was friendly. Read more
Excellent meal and wait staff. Becoming our date night restaurant. Highly recommend you join them some evening.
I ordered shrimp chao main and it was like five pieces of shrimp and the rest was canbbage for $16. Not worth it
Food was bland beyond compare - the spicy salmon and special rolls had no flavor, despite Lotus's sushi being priced higher than... nearby competitors. The scallops and steak were lacking seasoning, and were overcooked. The tuna inside my special rolls evenhad skin and left-over fish blood on it (as shown in the photo I posted), which makes me think it was either preparedimproperly, or low-quality. I eat sushi every other week and have never encountered sushi-grade fish like that. Even beyondthat, the service was rushed and impolite when we got takeout. Not recommended. Read more
I went the restaurant on a whim. Alone, I chose Japanese cuisine and a tasty seafood soup. The food and service was great.... Inside the restaurant - a nice city like atmosphere views of the village. They also have a huge and wine, cocktail and Sakemenu. Had a perfect accompaniment to a delightful meal. Read more
My wife Kathleen & I have been regular customers for years at Lotus . We had a 6:30 PM Reservation on New Years Eve and the... hostess placed us at a table in the furthest SW corner away from most serving activity. That was a first for being regulars weusually are assigned a booth ( two of which were opened ). It was very busy with just two waiters on staff. We waited 25 minutesand didn?t even receive a glass of water.. I observed 4 customers quite awhile after us get seated and in a short time receivedrink service requests fro one og the two waiters. But still no one even noticed us. I called to the owner Michael who waswalking by our table to point that out. Presuming that we were well known to him as regular customers, he would be able to getsome attention. But NO ! He never let me finish my sentence. In a loud voice he glared at me and YELLED: ? BE PATIENT ! ?I wasshocked at his rude manner and when I tried to point out that the others at the table behind him were just served ahead of us,he snapped ? IF YOU CAN?T WAIT, THEN WE WONT SERVE YOU.? I was embarrassed in front of the other customers without cause. Mywife and I put on our coats and walked out while the owner disappeared behind the kitchen doors. To be treated sodisrespectfully in front of a host of customers and yelled as though we were errant children by a business owner was totally outof bounds and exceptionally poor customer relations. My attempt to rectify out of turn service By his staff while disregardingours was certainly justifiable . But this rude owner never gave us that opportunity. Shortly thereafter I learned the twowaiters had some internal conflict among themselves as what tables they were responsible for covering. Sadly, ours was one incontention between them. So we were ignored for 25 minutes and on the basis of the owners disrespectful tirade when we tried topoint that out we had no other option but to leave. Finally, I have often wondered why there has been a significant Read more
