They told me my two forms of IN STATE government ID and one school ID were all fake. I an 23 years old. I think their bouncer... needs a new job. My friends were all let In with A SINGLE out of state ID . Then the manager told me not to be sassy even thoughI was made to wait outside in the cold for 20 mins while they debated about my 3 forms of ID. Don?t waste your time and moneyhere. Also it seems all the replies on this thread from the owner are very rude and disrespectful to customers rather thantrying to understand what went wrong. Always have frequented Dark Horse in Farmingdale often but we did a private event recently and it was phenomenal! Service and... setup with Jay beginning to end was a breeze. He made sure I was happy with everything multiple times through the party. Serverswere great. food and drinks were also great. Highly recommend a private event here!! Read more

The staff at Dark Horse is great. We were at a party last night on the back patio area and they did a great job. We were eating... all apps/sides which were all also really good. Park in the municipal lot behind the strip and you can walk in the back door. Read more
Love the decor! Beautiful bar. They have a garage door that opens in the summertime. It brings the outside in. The bartenders... are really good. They have a couple TVs, I love the seating at the bar. This is a great place to hang. Definitely leans towardthe younger crowd. Read more
I'll characterize this establishment as a bar with good food. They appear to be remodeling the appearance, and have enough TV... screens with ball and puck games tuned in to qualify as a "sports bar," in my book. It appeared that we three were the onlypatrons there primarily for food, but the staff was polite and attentive, and we never felt ignored during our time there. Mostrestaurants in the area are closed to new customers by 9PM, which has been a problem for us over the years. We come to this areato attend the Greater Long Island Dental Meeting annually, and some of the coursework extends into the evening, limiting dinneroptions quite a bit. So finding the Dark Horse Tavern was serendipitous. Read more
The server was great! Perfect example of a tavern! Amazing variety of beers on tap. They had a great bloody Mary and the... Jamison neat was a proper pour. If you visit this great town, make this a stop. Read more
I went in on a Monday night and had John as bartender, great personality and made things possible!! 10/10 customer service,... (AMAZING pretzels with cheese filling and other foods!) btw. Would deff recommend. Read more
