I love this place?s concept. My family loves waffles in general. We love breakfast. We went to Black Coffee and Waffle Bar by... means of recommendation from my cousin, who claimed they have the ?BEST? waffles he?s ever eaten . That?s a bold claim so wewere super excited to try it today. You order at the cashier when you walk in, they give you a number, you find your own seat.No problem. Until we realized the tables were dirty. I nicely asked the cashier if she could please get someone to clean ourtable. We sat at the dirty table for about 15 while we waited for one other family member to join us. Table wasn?t cleaned. Weall went up to the cashier to order and I again asked the cashier (a different lady this time), could someone please clean ourtable. She went over to the table and I thought she cleaned it. She came back and took our order. Pleasant staff, no issues withordering. If you order an ice water to drink, you?re pointed to a fill it yourself water station. However there was no ice andthe water didn?t taste good, and it wasn?t cold. I really don?t enjoy drinking warm water with my meal. Bummer. Went to ourtable to find it still dirty and sticky. Now the dirty table issue is beyond annoying. My daughter walked up to the bar, grabbedtheir spray bottle and rag and we cleaned it ourselves. The food took at least 30 minutes to arrive, and it didn?t all come outtogether - seriously painfully slow service. Finally the food arrived and the waffles tasted great! Everyone enjoyed theirorder. When it was time to leave, we realized they had a couple tubs at a station and you?re expected to clear your own table.Super annoying. Especially because we?re taking dirty waffle plates with syrup to the tub and then felt like we needed to washour hands afterwards. Didn?t like that at all. I like the vibe of the whole place. The waffles are a good size, and the amount of toppings seem to be pretty good too. The... only complaint I have is the amount of available flavors for a coffee shop seems to be pretty sparse. I would recommend foranyone looking to get some good food though, just you better not be a picky coffee drinker . Read more
Beautiful cafe with friendly staff and good coffee and waffles. My wife got the Apple Strudel waffle, which had a warm, homey... feel. I got the Strawberry Cheesecake, which was also very good. Mine did get a bit sweet by the end, but that's not surprisingfor a cheesecake theme. Both waffles had a generous amount of fruit, and were soft and fluffy. I had a plain latte, whichwasn't as sweet as one from Starbucks or Caribou, but was smooth and rich. My wife got a mocha with two added flavor shots. Shesaid it also wasn't as sweet but still tasted good. Service did seem just a little slow, but they were a bit busy, and it wasdefinitely worth the wait. Read more
The overall experience was good. Place was clean and the staff were friendly. Came for brunch on a Saturday and were told it... would be an hour and twenty minute wait for our waffles. My friend and I decided to order and just chat while we waited. Therewas self-service water and once we got our waffles they tasted very good. I had the apple strudel waffle and enjoyed it. Therewere also board games available to play. I would recommend but keep in mind if you go during peak hours you might have a longwait. Read more
Good morning from Fargo. I?m on layover today where it?s 10? outside. I really wanted (want) eggs, but this was the closest... place to our hotel, and come on?WAFFLES & Coffee!!?????????????????????? I ordered the ?Fat Andrew?, Belgium Waffle with PeanutButter, Banana, Cinnamon, Powdered Sugar, Whipped Cream. Sweeter than I?d wanted to eat (craving eggs still) but OH sodelicious!!???????????? The wait was super long and the potato waffle didn?t actually have a ton of flavor. I would recommend one of the sweet ones! The... atmosphere was amazing, and it would be a great spot to hangout and study or meet with a friend. Huge tables and tons of parkingnearby. Read more
This place is right off Broadway and near the Broadway Square park a very busy location. There are several small restaurants... around it to choose from but last week I went to BCAWH and was not disappointed. The menu fairly basic and that day I was havingmore of a sweet tooth although there are some savory waffle choices like a potato waffle or one with pork on it called a Luauwaffle I think one with Swiss and ham to for their signature waffles bit you can create your own waffle too. There are manytables and syrup on all of them just one kind of syrup that I saw. I really don't know if they have any other syrup choices. Iordered an Apple Strudel Waffle it had a caramel sauce and whipped cream. It was sweet enough so I didn't add syrup. I also hada hot coffee Americano. I enjoy the leisurely pace of the place, the simple menu choices and the very basic but updated decor.Also some local art featured there too. I see the prices as being reasonable but not super cheap. I could charge my phone toowhich was nice. I'm a big waffle person so it would be hard not to impress me with waffles and I love coffee too.
