Reviews for Vinh Kee Chinese Restaurant in Falls Church, VA
My first time to the restaurant my Chinese friend's recommendation for an authentic Cantonese food place. I was very... disappointed with their service, sitting on a table for twenty minutes waiting for plates and a server. The food, Dim Sum wasgreasy and lukewarm, Cantonese fried noodle with few pieces of seafood was very disappointing. I'd rather pay more to eat betterChinese food than an inexpensive and poor quality food that many old Asians prefer. Read more
Really like this place, never disappoints. Food is always good, they are not super expensive, just right. Lots of room inside,... you can definitely have no trouble seating a big crowd easily 20 plus inside. I recommend this place, owners are super nice andbest service. They are also super fast. I ordered a meal on Sunday afternoon and it was ready in 15 minutes for pickup I orderedabout 8 items. And everything tasted amazing. I have been going to this place I would say for the last 15 years. It used to beopen till real late like 2am, this was the place where other restaurants owners would go after closing their restaurants, sothat tells you how good their food is. Read more
Tonight for our 5 year anniversary my Asian wife wanted some authentic Asian food. We heard good things about this restaurant. ... We ordered for starters we ordered Crab meat asparagus soup. It was very good. We shared it and finished all of it. The nextthing we ordered was the fried lobster. It was very good. I only had a bite because its too high in cholesterol for me. Alsowe ordered the squid with sea salt. All was very good. So we have no complaints but only good things to say. Read more
The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. We also felt the portion sizes were fantastic compared to other dim sum spots... we have tried in the area. Easy parking, yummy food, good variety, and friendly staff. What more can one ask for? We would comeback here again. Read more
Apps were good - but then there was a baby roach on the egg rolls and threw the whole meal off. Then I looked up past health... inspections ???????? sadly this place is disgusting. What?s the worst part - the server heard the 2 year old boy yell there?s abug on the egg rolls and did nothing. We tried not to make a big deal of it bc she she clearly heard our kid yell there?s a bug.I instantly googled the health score and read how they improperly handle food- have roaches, flies and ?other? - how they haveissues with food temps - cross contamination. Our food we ordered - no one ate a thing but the fried rice and apps. Everythingwas left untouched. The shrimp wasn?t cleaned properly in the fried rice? Not only did the staff not ask what was wrong, failedto do anything about hearing ?there?s a bug? but argued with me when I told them I wouldn?t be back and I shouldn?t have to tellher to do her job and do something about hearing ?there?s a bug? and at the BARE minimum remove the egg rolls from the bill.Bare minimum - period. My sis got some type of chicken and the sauce of the chicken tasted sour. A forced $20 tip on food thatnearly sat untouched and we did not take it - $131 wasted Hope you enjoyed that $20 tip bc not only will I never be back but Iam reporting the baby roach to the health department. We wanted to try a new Dim Sum and this place came up. The building looks old and inside wasn't as fancy either. The food was... pretty good. Only if they had additional help coz the place was packed! They only had 2 waitress and 1 bus boy to clean tables. The place was not organized and was a mess. It was hard to place an order and the food took forever. Just to get our check took30 mins. I would recommend to eat here becuase the food tasted well. But the service was terrible. Read more
The dim sum is generally good. However, a couple of the dishes were too greasy, like the ?? Taro dumplings. ??? Shanghai pork... dumplings were disappointing also. Read more
I have been a patron for almost 30 years. I have never had a bad experience. I have never had bad service. Yes at times it has... been busy, but never bad. food has been very consistent over the years, certainly the duck, most of all, has been amazingthroughout the entire time, also the duck noodle soup and the BBQ pork over rice (not the crunchy skin (not that there is anissue, i just don't get that one)), and any of the seafood dishes I have tried, and the pan fried noodles, all are awesome. theDim Sum is kind of a new thing (relatively speaking) and i get that from time to time, usually as an appetizer. When I comehere, it's like visiting an old friend. Some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. This place is traditional, nottrendy. Siu mei is the staple attraction for me. large tables filled with extended Chinese families sharing meals together iswhat you can expect to see when you dine here. Not many places like this around, now that Fortune has closed. Try getting thehalf duck, maybe soy chicken, the pork, and some pan fried noodles and a shrimp dish and a veg like eggplant in garlic sauce andyou can't go wrong! Read more
