Cute place. We entered through the back entrance where there is some parking. We got nigiri, the Sashimi deluxe, and a couple... rolls. They had some HH prices for the Nigiri. Mackarel was $1.75/piece. Tamago was $3.50/piece. Flying Fish Roe and Octopuswas both $5.50/piece. We also got some Eel and Squid. For our rolls, we got the Tuna Avocado Roll and the Surf and Turf. TheSurf and Turf isn't exactly what I was expecting but overall the food was pretty good. Great service and the staff is reallyfriendly! Read more

What an awesome place to have nearby. I?m a big fan of traditional Japanese sushi - not the fried, mayo and sugar sauce coated... creations so common now. If you also share a love for simple, clean sushi made with very high quality ingredients by a chef whorespects tradition, go here! On top of it all they are super friendly and nice. Chef Tao came out and played with my daughter atone point which was great. Update: after 6 months living in the area now, I?ve probably been here 15 times. It?s always good. It?s not the fanciest place, but it just feels comfy and welcoming, and the food is just awesome especially for the price. Ifyou want great authentic Japanese food without all the fuss, come here! Read more

This is NOT a place I?ll come back. It wasn?t that bad, but there are plenty of better options around. The food was just... average, the texture of the sashimi wasn?t quite right and the ton katsu was kinda soggy. The service was all over the placetoo. We were three at our table. My meal came with miso soup, so the waitress brought it first and left it in front of myspouse. Then I got the main dish while my family sat waiting for another five minutes. The sushi menu didn?t have prices either, they said it was all market price, which is a bit inconvenient. Read more

Very small Japanese restaurant Price is reasonable But the service was pretty bad... the servers are such in a rush, kept trying... to take our plates that I'm not done with, no refills, and they'd talk very loudly between servers... Sushi delux is 15 piecesbut this actually includes 6 pieces of tuna rolls.. so it's 15 all together ( i expected 15 nigiris) Katsu donburi is good butit was only half portions of regular donkatsu.. Modest space with nice outdoor seating in front and attentive service, plus parking in the rear. The sushi, while good, wasn?t... particularly great and some pieces tasted more fresh than others. Very good prices though, especially for the $11 lunch bentobox deal. Read more

Good server and sushi! It is less expensive than sushi places in the area. The sushi still feels premium too.

A cute Japanese restaurant in the heart of falls church city! I loved the cozy atmosphere and the staff was so friendly. I... ordered something a little bit off-menu (katsu curry) but they were happy to oblige and it was so good! They were super generouswith the ingredients- a lot more chicken than I expected in the curry, but everything was cooked down so well and the carrotswere nice and soft. They had some specials up on the walls that I'm looking forward to trying next time! Read more

My family and I have been coming here for a long time. We think it's one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area, but this... was our first time back since COVID started. I'm only marking it 4/5 instead of 5/5 since I thought that the Miso soup was abit watery. They must be going for a more subtle taste but personally I prefer a more robust flavor. Everything else wasexceptional though. The Futomaki had a balanced combination of ingredients and flavors. Sushi rice can be hard to perfect, butthe rice in these rolls was sweet and sticky without either quality being overpowering. The egg was nicely spongy while stillhaving a slight firmness. The other sushi rolls I tried were excellent as well, and the oily, chewy fish eggs that coated oneof them were a particular highlight. My main course was a Teriyaki New York strip steak served with a side of rice and salad. The steak was marinated in a thick layer of teriyaki and dotted with sesame seeds, and the meat itself wrapped my taste buds ina warm embrace of juicy tenderness. If you're in the area and want to treat yourself to some delectable Japanese food, look nofurther than Maneki Neko. Read more
