Though this place was going to be good for a quick bite to eat during breakfast time. WRONG! We order two items from the menu... and as I watched her macro wave and put my order together I noticed it wasn?t the way I had asked. She remade it and got wrongagain. They are always nice, and the place is clean. They always have a variety of fresh donuts. My son and I love to get our donuts... here. And breakfast sandwiches. i recommend the turkey with bacon on any bread of your choice but I prefer the onion bread. Read more
I had no idea Winchell's still existed ......I haven't seen one for decades. I had not been in one since a kid either. I was... startled to learn open 24 hours, excellent reg or decaf coffee at any shift (I always ask if coffee is freshly brewed when notbrewing myself). Their fresh coffee is a good-tasting balanced coffee. One can custom order deli food like a salad or awrap----24 hours, too. (The manager told me each of her shifts is prepared to do so. ) Fallbrook Winchell's -- A clean, safe,welcoming environment where one can quietly relax. Also, what is really great is that they have a strong take-out market--justabout everyone is picking up as a Instacart, Doordash etc. For me, visiting Winchells brought back 100s of wonderful memoriesof decades ago. Perfect location--since downtown Fallbrook is so historic, too. Read more
Donuts were delicious. The strawberry banana chilla was just ok. Tasted like water downed strawberry water. The ladies working... that day were very nice and helpful though. Overall will be back. Read more
Now that this location has been open a while, figured it was time to leave a review. Majority of the reviews that were 5 Star... were from folks that visited while new, which isn't really accurate for this location post-grand opening. Rating this 3 Starsbased on the following: Variety: Good - Plenty of options Donuts: Just OK - Bland and almost taste as if they are dayold Price: Average - Similar to other major donut shops (DD) Overall, if you are looking for donuts to pick up at a decentprice and aren't looking for great flavor or freshness, a safe bet. If you are looking for a breakfast sandwich or some othertype of snack, a safe bet. None of these will knock your socks off though and require an immediate return visit. There arebetter options in town or elsewhere. I would liken this to the McDonald's/Burger King version of donuts. Quick, inexpensive,lots of variety; but really nothing special and they don't specialize in flavor on any specific product. Read more
Usually a great place. Whoever they had working on 12/6/2021 at about 9pm to 11pm really made my experience here horrible. I... ordered through DoorDash which I do often. They got my order wrong by giving me the wrong flavored donuts and not even sendingme the bagel sandwich. So I reordered. I specifically asked that my order not be wrong this time and this was my 2nd attempt toorder. I received the correct order this time but it was so horribly prepared. My bagel had the wrong ingredients and lookedlike it literally got thrown together. Plus it was somehow cold and burnt at the same time. The donuts were the correct onesthis time but seemed to have way more chocolate glaze than usual. This was fine with me but when I took a bite, there was hairhidden underneath the extra glaze. This nice new donut place is a good addition to Fallbrook. It's located in the same sprawling shopping mall as Albertsons, CVC,... Chase Bank and other places. Their offerings are probably a half step tastier and larger than the other donut places in townbut they're also a bit more expensive. Although they offer hot sandwiches, pizza bagels and pastries besides donuts I've onlytried the donuts and plain croissants so far. Their coffee is not great but also not terrible. The place is clean and hassmall indoor and outdoor seating areas. They have a huge variety of donuts and pastries but nothing is labelled so you'll beasking a lot of questions of the staff. Who are very friendly but tend to hang out in the back so you may need to make yourpresence known. One huge plus is that they're open 24/7. A big step up from the other donut places in town with limited hours. Read more
