Very pleased with our food here! Just about turned around when I found out it was in the same building as a gas station and glad... we didn't. The shrimp and grits breakfast was excellent with poached eggs and slices of fried green tomatoes. Will definitelymake a trip back! Read more
I was really blown away by the food here. I saw the restaurant was close to my airbnb but wasn't planning on going there for... lunch. Pictures on Google, led me to believe the restaurant was primarily breakfast food but this is incorrect. They had plentyof options for lunch and breakfast was served all day. We ended up at the restaurant for lunch and it was a great decision.Everything I tried was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the fried Brussels. Read more
Don't let the gas station out front scare you off. The food here was phenomenal. They're fresh potato chips were delicious too.... They also introduced us to some amazing mustard which we also picked up to take home. It was very clean and neatly decorated. Wesat inside for the ac but the outdoor seating was a nice area. Best diner in greater Asheville area! Probably best diner co-habitating with a gas station this side of the Mississippi... I... can't not get the reuben, but the fried green tomato and pimento cheese BLT is out of sight too! Read more

First few times we ate here (during the pandemic), the food was terrific. We especially took a liking to the buffalo chicken... sandwich. It was tasted amazing and the hunk of chicken breast was mammoth, and could in no way be contained by the bun. Itwas hanging out of both side...and juicy. The fillet was drenched in the buffalo sauce that put this dish over the top. Sincethen, most recently today, the yummy buffalo sauce that the chicken breast used to be drenched in has "dried up." And thebreading has gone from tan to brown. The portion, like your favorite cotton T-shirt run through the drier too many times, hasshrunk, and gotten somewhat dry. Hopefully, they''ll kick things back up a few notches. While we like to patronize Fairviewbusinesses when we can, I guess it's Juicy Lucy's when we're hungry for a buffalo chicken sandwich, which beats the currentoffering at the Local Joint, hands down! The sweet potato fries were a disappointment as well. Oh, I got a house salad, whichwas crammed in with my hot sandwich. The salad should have been in it's own box, where it could have been a little bigger, andnot warmed by a fried chicken sandwich. $32, and a $5 tip, for take-out not well spent. Read more
