Very busy on a Sunday morning. Took that as a good sign. Had just finished camping and hiking for a few days nearby and wanted... something good and hot. We have been a few times but this was our first in the new spot. We probably won?t be back after this last one. Not much if you... have any dietary restrictions. They also didn?t like my questions about it; like it was a bother. Cinnamon roll was stale but mykid ate it anyway. Wasn?t very friendly and by the replies to some of these reviews it seems standard. This is a humble review for those hateful people out there. This is a Spanish style restaurant not Mexican. Great food for what... they have on the menu. They are the only place up in the area with tamales( unless you want to try the dry tasteless one fromcity market)so it?s first come first serve. They do take orders for specific flavors if you want a bunch and to make sure theyhave them in stock for you. If you are looking for Mexican food there is a place up here with that food but Dorothy?s is not it.Wayne the male cashier could have been more helpful. Such as just greeting people when they walk in and and maybe not actingirritated when someone orders. I have sat in this restaurant to eat many many times and have seen it. But to be fair the poorguy deals with incompetent people asking ridiculous questions that they could have read and found out their answer but Overallgood food and service. First time visit. We both ordered the beef taco plate. It came with 3 crunchy tacos with cheese,lettuce and tomatoes. A side of... rice and some refried beans. I wish there was a side of sour cream but there was a sizeable bowl of chunky salsa. The tacos werefat and full but the meat was too spicy for me and very oily. My husband liked it so my 2 tacos went home with us! Theatmosphere was nice as well as employees. The menu has many items to choose from I did not repeat the menu photos as they areincluded already. Tip: Do yourself a favor and call ahead to see what tamales they currently have, fresh or frozen. These tamales are a little bit... bigger than I?ve usually seen. The pork green chile tamales were more like cheesy tamales with a little bit of a kick, and didnot showcase the green chile in my opinion. The green chile is pretty gentle?or, if you?ve been through New Mexico, it?sdownright mild. Had the smothered breakfast burrito with green chile, and on its own you can see that it?s mostly roux (by thepale white color). The burrito itself could?ve been warmer, the shredded yellow/white cheese inside was unmelted but it was atleast a good size and hit the spot. Read more

I'm here to review the bakery side of things .. Our family was on vacation in Fairplay from Texas and during our trip, two of... our family members celebrated birthdays. Of course we had to have a little party, and cake was a must! We contacted KB's Kakerybefore our trip and placed an order for a plain, grey two-tiered cake .. and it was perfect! (we added the Baby Yodasourselves). The cake was fresh and moist. The icing was light and fluffy and perfectly sweetened! Our boys felt so special andwe all thoroughly enjoyed the dessert! Read more
