The menu looked great. I was traveling solo and hostess said I could sit at bar. Bartender completely ignored me. Finally, came... and I ordered water and wine. He brought tiny glass of water. He set an empty wine glass in front of me then proceeded to gohelp every other person at the bar. I drank the water and left. Huge disappointment. Read more

So glad this place has finally reopened and have he kinks worked out. Super friendly waitstaff, cozy dining area, wonderful food... and a great location all make this one of my favorite places on the Eastern Shore. The grilled grouper and veggies are awesomebut be sure to save room for the Sea Salt Carmel Cheesecake, you will not be disappointed!!! Read more

WARNING: Camellia Cafe ignores online reservations. I received three emails confirming my reservation. My name was on the... book but scratched when I arrived. I was told the reason was because they had no contact information for me. However, I findthis hard to believe since I?ve never had this experience booking online until today. Therefore, my party could not be seatedbecause they were booked. The hostess said they were supposed to have removed the online reservation option from their website. But, the link was there on May 27 and still today when we arrived , June 4. Read more

Extremely disappointed after making reservations a week ago to walk up & see a closed sign on the door. My brother was so... excited to come here & stayed in fairhope for this reason It is a small restaurant so there is no reason for you not tocontact all of your guests. We should have gone to Jesse's & we will next time. Read more

What a fantastic restaurant this is! A Fairhope, Alabama highlight, for sure! We sifted through some idiotic Google reviews to... choose this stupendous place. A 1-star review stated, ?...excellent food...excellent service... but we didn?t like thedecor...?? What a maroon. The decor is upscale and clean, while still being comfortable and inviting. Upon arrival, my senseswere treated with the subtle smell of hickory wood, my hopes of grilled and smoky meats were not let down. From the cocktails, served with flavor and fresh produce flare, to the local craft brews and well selected wine list, our relax time kicked innicely. The specials, grilled rack of lamb and scallops looked amazing, but the Kobe Burger and Truffle Fries hit mygrilled/hickory craving just perfectly. This one one of the best burgers I have had in my life! Wow! Sometimes you just gottahave a burger. Delicious. The truffle fries are on par with my favorite Printworks Bistro in Greensboro, NC. Delicious andaddictive. The fish my wife ordered was perfect! 5-Stars for sure. Light, freshly flavored on top of a sweet potatoe, almostratatouille like, but flavored so nicely. I think I would have enjoyed anything the chef served. What a find! Thank youCamellia Cafe and our server Edwin for a splendid meal. Read more

I love walking into a place that is simple with a touch of elegance. I like when restaurants have great service and let the food... be the focal point of the visit. I also really appreciate when a chef approaches his work as art- because at the end of the day-that is exactly what good food is. The wifey and I visited Camellia Café this past weekend with another couple. As we walkedin, we received a warm welcoming greeting and were shown to our table. Ricky, our server, promptly approached the table and setthe tone for the evening- he was great! Super friendly, funny, attentitive, and helpful. We each started with a drink. Any placethat has Booker's behind the bar is alright with me. Definitely hit the spot. The ladies each had a mixed cocktail that theyenjoyed as well. Next Up: The Appetizer. Due to picky eaters at the table- we had to keep this part simple. We opted for theTruffle Fries and Beef Carpaccio. The fries came out perfect. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The BeefCarpaccio... It disappeared quicker than imaginable! It was delicious! And now... The Main Event! I opted for the Veal Tomahawksteak. It came accompanied with carrots and potatoes au gratin. It was presented very nicely, cooked perfectly, and full offlavor! I was not disappointed at all. The wife had the filet mignon, also presented nicely and cooked perfectly. Our friendshad the duck and the fish. I stole a bite of each plate and everything was very tasty. The meats all seemed to be of goodquality and nothing was skimped on. Camellia Café lived up to our expectations. We all left very satisfied. The service wasfantastic, the ambience within the place was great, and the food was just right. This will definitely be a place that we comeback to in the future. The perfect place to have a date night, celebrate something special, or to just treat yourself to a greatmeal. Read more
