2BFair, we did not eat here: We stopped for snacks, drinks, and restroom breaks at the collective Pilot fuel station, etc.;... Checkers fries are a special treat from our past and that was the deciding factor in picking this as the refuel point on ourreturn trip from Houston. However, the three employees behind the counter were so busy they were unable to break away for the8+ minutes we waited. It seemed there may have been a large order they were still completing, but after a few minutes, one ofthe employees acknowledged my wife and said his coworker would be with them shortly. Five minutes later (not an eternity, butnot nothing) we gave up and just grabbed a couple drinks from the fuel side. Other than the folks already seated and appearingto be waiting for their food, the place was empty. The guy at that register was perfectly wonderful, but the rest of theexperience was disappointing. Being from the Midwest, I had to stop at Rally's to get my fries when I'm heading to Galveston from Dallas. They are the best.... The fish sandwich is delicious as well. Read more

Used to be good but lately the food is just horrible. My dad ordered a two for five one double checker burger and one double... fish sandwich. The burgers where sloppy and the fish patties where rock hard. Overcooked and inedible. Really disappointed. Hetook one bite but couldn't eat it as it was too hard. Its sad. I ordered the BBQ beacon chicken sandwich and it?s horrible. First the chicken looks black from bad fry grease. Two, they forgot... onion strings, and cheese. Finally, the beacon looks like crumbs. The saddest looking sandwich for almost $8 ever. Read more
