I have wanted to review this place for a while... But I really don't want it to get too busy where I can't get a seat! High... Side never disappoints. My fiance and I come here a few times a month. The food is fantastic (small plates, modern Asiancuisine). They stock a well-rated, curated, rotating selection of beer on tap and in their little bottle shop. The staff issuper friendly and accommodating. The location in Old Town Fairfax is always clean, but it is on the smaller side. They have 2tables on a little patio out front; we like to sit at one of these when we bring our dog. Otherwise, we try to get a seat at thebar inside. I can't rate this place highly enough! The taiwanese sausages, buns and fried chicken were excellent. It took me right back to being in a night market in Taipei. I had... to ask the staff where their chef came from because I haven't had sausages and buns this authentic since I moved to the US.Can't wait to go back and try more. Read more
Great people, world-class beers, unique food menu options and amazing staff/beertenders. They always make you feel welcome, with... positive vibes and great conversation. And they just celebrated their fourth anniversary, having transformed Fairfax City into aplace where rare beers are poured and good times are had. Always meet great people when hanging out there, and from ownership ondown, everyone there is down to earth and accepting. Make sure to stop in and grab a brew with their signature Tornado Fries!Nothing else in the FFX City area stacks up. They're one-of-a-kind. Big fan. Family-like vibes every time I'm there. High Side is a very unusually interesting place. Its retro aesthetic on the inside makes it into a great hip brewery which... definitely pleases my eyes because I love the retro design aesthetic. Combined the tapas style Asian street food options- itmakes the place into a delightful experience. Now let?s talk about service. I think it needs a little work but for the mostpart the level of courtesy is good. The beer menu is absolutely fantastic and it is a great spot for a bunch offriends/coworkers to get together and have a blast. Food - I think with food it also needs to stand out a bit more if it wantsmake its mark. That said I really enjoyed the tornado fries. I will definitely have another visit with friends for sure. Very small but quaint restaurant downtown Fairfax City. Delicious meals and friendly service. Great selection of beer and wine.... Family friendly. Not a lot of tables so you may have to wait. Limited street parking, some parking behind the restaurant. We hada great time and so will you. Read more
Loved the sweet potato fries and potstickers! Thought I would save some to share with my hubby, but they didn?t last long?. ... Had a sour beer as well and all were delicious. Staff was friendly and super knowledgeable. Will be visiting again for sure! They also have an interesting selection of beers to take home!! Read more
