I really wanted to give this place more stars because the food was good but the service wasn't the best. This was our first time... visiting the place, and it set a bad impression from the start. We didn't get seated until over 45min after our reservationtime. We first ordered drinks but didn't get them until we had already eaten half our food. Garlic beef rice was very good (verylarge portion to split with several people). The seafood ceviche was good but we probably wouldn't get it again. We also got thespicy pork belly and brisket. Both flavorful but very fatty, so I'd recommend leaner cuts if that isn't your preference. Wereally wanted to try the Kyoto matcha crepe cake, but they didn't have any unfortunately. Overall, the food was very good, butin comparison to some other Japanese BBQ places in Rockville, it wasn't as good. Read more

Excellent food, service and ambience. Every item we had was delightful, servers were attentive and very helpful. We thoroughly... enjoyed our dine in experience. We walked in on a Saturday 8:45pm and luckily got a seat immediately. We were told it?s mostlysuper busy so better to make reservation in advance. Such a cool experience! I loved it! The food, cooking on the grill in front of me smelled amazing. A great variety of flavors,... sauces and combinations. It?s a cool place to have a nice date of a birthday, special dinner kind of time. The staff were greatas well, explained everything in great detail. By far the best sushi and Japanese BBQ in town. My wife and I visited twice during the past couple of weeks, and we absolutely... loved the food, the service, and the ambiance. Our favorite pick from the menu include garlic tuna from the appetizers (don?tremember the exact name), garlic chicken thigh, spicy chicken breast, garlic shrimp, king dragon roll, pink lady roll, bakedlobster roll, flaming tuna roll, salmon haven roll, and butter cheese corn. Both the quality and the taste of the food wasamazing. And most importantly for us, they served Halal chicken. Kevin was our server the first time, and Jacqueline/Jin was ourserver the second time, both were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice quality meat but pretty pricey for the quantity of meat for each order. You can look at spending about $100 per person with... drinks. Our waitress did a wonderful job cooking for us and she was super attentive and cleaned the table. Not a single piece oftrash was ever left on the table and plates were removed and replaced constantly. Great customer service! Food was superb... service was superb. The price was pretty high even more than justifiable for the quality of the food and the service. Each ordermay not be pricey but it added up quickly! Read more

Wow, this is my first Japanese BBQ experience. The meat is top quality, appetizers are delicious we had sushi(lobster roll) the... cocktails aren?t as strong. We waited close to an hour, suggest making reservations to avoid the wait. The customer service istop tier everyone here is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. This is a high energy, upbeat, and celebratory restaurant,many birthdays were honored. Our waiter Jesh was the best he made my first experience worth the wait. Excellent Japanese BBQ restaurant! Started in Tokyo and I was told this is their first location in the US. Came highly... recommended from my siblings and boy were they right. The flavors and quality of the meats (especially the Miyazaki A5 Wagyu!)were all outstanding. Service was superb, Jenna took care of us and was funny yet still very professional! The sushi is really good here. Fresh and high quality fish. Service is also immaculate. Soon as a plate clears, someone has... already taken it away. The jbbq however, I didn?t really care for. I let our server decide what we ate and the meats were okay.The outside skirt was the best one; the others were quite bland and missing much of its natural aroma that even the dippingsauces couldn?t bring out. I do really like how the meats are labeled tho! The truffle fried rice was extremely underwhelming.No hint of truffle oil at all and super bland. Overall, a good experience tho! Read more
