Great date night location. This was my first time coming to shabu shabu. I was starving and left full. The Staff were very... helpful and walk us through the menu. As a first-timer I felt like I was in good hands. We ended up going with therecommendations of the mixed tonkatsu broth and spicy broth. During the meal a staff member came by periodically to skim thebroth.. My husband got meat and I got shrimp. Yum! I also got the lychee martini. I was really pleased that it wasn't overlysweet. Staff here are are very friendly and helpful, and it's a fun dining experience! We had the prime beef, chicken, pork, shrimp,... and scallops. The prime beef and pork were the stars of the show. Took a few minutes to figure the process out, but the resultswere delicious. We were happy we went with the spicy miso broth too. Read more

My family tried Fairfax branch of California Shabu Shabu. We enjoyed the choice prime rib and chicken Shabu Shabu with spicy... miso combined with pork based broth. Our boys enjoyed the chicken wings and Cajun fries. Ingredients were freshly prepared. We recommend you to try out too. Read more
This is a traditional Japanese style shabu-shabu hot pot place with high quality meat hidden inside of a local strip mall in... fairfax. please don't compare this to Korean or Chinese All you can eat hot pot as it's a different category. From the ponzuand sesame dipping sauce it immediately reminded me of Shabu-Shaba restaurants from Japan town in San Francisco. (Not sure ifthat's where the inspiration came from for their name of the restaurant itself.) As soon as I sat down to take a glance at thesake menu, I knew this place was serious about the attention to detail with picking the sake and the quality of food. Mypersonal favorite being the 'demom slayer's Wakatake Onikoroshi a Junmai Daiginjo & Dassai 23 another Junmai Daiginjo whichpairs perfectly with shabu shabu in my opinion. The sake was also served perfectly chilled through a Hario ice dispenser ( glassfunnel-like concoction that has ice in a separate glass so you don't dilute the sake and it's self-served). Before we couldfinish the first bottle Duke provided a bottle of Amabuki, a rose colored sake that was made with black rice. So for the food,first of all, this is not an all you can eat hot pot place but focus on quality meat and seafood .For beef ribeye you have anoption between choice prime, Kobe and over the top. A5 wagyu . I went for the middle of the road prime ribeye and honestly theKing Kong portion of prime beef is perfect if not a little large for a single person. When we visited with the large party of 10plus on a week day, the entire staff were very accommodating and the service was also attentive. The edamame and sweet potatofries were favorites for my young kids while the prime beef shabu shabu was with standard Kombu broth was just perfect. Very clean restaurant. The server was very friendly and helpful with the explanation of how to eat the hotpot. We went here for... the hidden Vietnamese item "bun dau mam tom" and were very pleased with it. Overall, it was a very satisfactory experience. Read more
This was my first time with the Shabu Shabu experience and it was awesome! The food was top notch and the staff was super... helpful in how to best experience the meal. This was very much a 5 star experience. I've come with my family and the staff evenwent out of their way to entertain my kids and even provided them with training chopsticks to take home for them to learn! Themeats and vegetables were delicious and the presentation of both looked great. I couldn't wait for my food to be donecooking! Besides the amazing food and staff, this was also the cleanest and most organized restaurant I've EVER been to in allmy years of dining out! Will definitely be returning whenever I'm in the area.
