Not very family friendly- no high chairs at booths. Should be more accommodating to families as it is part of fair oaks farm.... Walked in with my husband and 4 kids with a stroller and the gals at the desk stared like they had never seen a stroller before,then we asked where to put it and they weren’t sure. Not sure if the rest of the stares from all other staff was because wewere latino or what but not very welcoming or professional. Flies in the restaurant- we had to wave our hands over our foodseveral times. Food was pricey but it was good. On our way out my son and I were struggling to get our stroller out the door and1 staff member put her head down and the other walked by quickly as to not see us instead of HELPING!!!!! Food is great! A little pricy, but you get what pay for and the quality is good. Staff is friendly and the facilities are clean... and well taken care of. Would recommend the bison burger and chicken sandwich. The cheese curds are great, and the deep friedmushrooms are a true standout! My son liked the Mac and cheese as well! One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever had the privilege to eat at. Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Front Porch... Sitting with rockers. The food was excellent as well as the service. We had brussel sprouts and pork sandwiches a meatloaf andeverything was so tasty. We also had a very nice waitress and we'll be back again five star rating! Read more
We have stopped here many times on our way to Chicago. Great corn bread, good home style food. The restaurant is only part of... this place. It has a hotel, ice creamery, farm animals for the kids and more, even their own gas station and Tesla chargingstation. Worth the stop. Read more
We stopped here to charge our electric car and needed a bite to eat. The place is great. I love the see through kitchen and... their food is delicious, why 4 stars? Very heavy meat based. If you're vegan stay away, if you're vegetarian there are very fewchoices apart from salad, they have a bean burger which is fantastic but it's not even on the menu. We had their apple pie a lamode and it was absolutely delicious. I love they way they serve their drinks in little glass jars For the restaurant: vegansand vegetarians are becoming more of a buying force, we're willing to spend more in an effort to reduce animal suffering. I absolutely love the Farmhouse Restaurant! Every time I’m on my way to Chicago this is my dinner stop before getting there,... the food is beyond delicious and fresh! The place is nice and clean and very cozy. The staff is attentive and professional. Ifyou’re ever passing by the Fair Oaks Farms I highly recommend you stopping and grabbing a bite from here! Fantastic food, awesome wait staff Brandy... Our steak was amazing, loved the compound butter on top, crisp, fresh green beans... and garlic mashed potatoes - really good.
