Reviews for Soban Korea in Evanston, IL
Food 4 stars Environnement 5 stars Staff 5 stars Price $$$/$$$$ (because of small portion) Overall 4 stars Standard Korean food... restaurant. Food tastes good. The portion is on the smaller side though, so order enough. Read more
Stone pot kept the soon dubu jigae warm through the meal + great tofu. Tteokbokki was a little on the sweeter side, but still... really good (better with some rice). Highlight of the meal was the budae jigae! Wish the portion was slightly bigger, though. Read more
My new favorite restaurant. Period. I can?t believe how happy I am after splitting a meal with the girlfriend and spending $31... between the two of us. We ordered the fried veggie dumplings and bibimbap. If you go with the bibimbap, it?s 100% worth it topay a couple dollars extra for the sizzling bowl option. Read more
Delicious! If you're hungry, the budae-jjigae is spicy and filling. The tteokbokki is sweeter but definitely also still spicy.... The panchan (small dishes pictured between the larger dishes) were cool and refreshing when eating spicier main dishes. Read more
Recently found this place driving by and came back for dinner. The atmosphere is inviting, staff is friendly, and the food is... delicious! We tried the gungjung tteokbokki and seafood kalguksu and both were just perfectly flavored and so tasty. Somebanchan was provided and refills were accommodated too so we had plenty of kimchi with our meal, super good. We'll be back andhighly recommend! Read more

Very amazing!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE? All the side dishes were great! Very reasonable price
First time at Soban, but many many Korean restaurants around the entire Chicago area. My standard first time item is (yuk guy... Jeng) Yukgaejang, which is a spicy soup with shredded beef, green onions and green bean sprouts with glass noodles. It is hotand spicy, and it helps me determine if the food is authentic. My wife always eats the Dolsot Bibimbap, rice crispy in a stonebowl and cooked veggies and a fried egg, and a selection of different meats, shrimp, tofu, etc. Both dishes were outstanding andserved hot and delicious. I ordered both dishes before the waitress brought the menus, but she came back to the table the makesure I knew my dish was hot and spicy. Maybe this white guy doesn?t know what he?s ordering, ????????? I thought it wasfunny. When the food was brought out they didn?t think we wanted the Kimchi, so I did ask for the Kimchi. Maybe they get a lotpeople who don?t know Korean food? We will return to this quant little restaurant in Evanston. Tap on the thumbs up ???? belowbefore you leave. Read more
