Delicious Japanese food. We ordered the chicken bento (pictured), the agedashi tofu, and the oyako don. All of it was very... flavorful and at a reasonable price. I am happy to support a long-standing family owned local business! Read more

Great Japanese restaurant to visit when you want to have some more authentic sushi (and I mean nigiri sushi, not rolls). Ordered... the individual sushi pieces and all of them were satisfying to the last bite. I'd say this place provides the best sushicompared to other Japanese restaurants in Evanston. If you're not so keen on getting sushi, their dinner box option is alsogreat, coming in a large portion. Read more

So good! We tried the Ten Don, Spicy Albacore Maki, Shrimp Stir Fry, and House Sake. I love Japanese food and this didn't... disappoint one bit. The service was excellent and the price was beyond fit for the quality. The meals came with salad and misosoup which was a nice bonus. Read more

Good but not great. I expected more for place that opened for over 30 years. I saw head chef cutting frozen tuna that used for... nigiri. Most of sashimi I ordered was frozen. Cook food was good but so outdated for this day. Only I like is how bright insideand good services. Read more

oh my god! where to start! It was my first time and I had EXTRAORDINARY experience here! The uni is sooo fresh! I ordered... hotate, unagi, tsubugai and tsubugai nigiri too and I loved them! Their tempura and zaru soba is great. One thing... just onlyone thing that I dont like at all is their salmon skin handroll. The salmon skin was not crunchy at all and have a weird smell.Nevertheless, that's not keeping me from giving them 5 stars anyways. Great service! Will be back! Read more

So disappointed. Food was not authentic at all. Sesame Spanish tasted like medicine. Oyakodon and sukiyaki also not authentic -... rice tasted so squishy in the oyakodon. I don’t think this is Japanese food. Read more

We have been coming to this traditional sushi house since 1996, and keep coming back even though we moved 25 miles north. We... have eaten sushi around the country and the world, and this is still by far the best sushi ever! Quality is exceptional andprices are reasonable. Do not miss if you are in the Chicago area!
