At this restaurant on Broadway, the place was physically cold. The ambiance was very bright lighting. The waitress had a... difficult time understanding us, and she was aggressive with service. Koi is a quaint dining experience in Downtown Evanston that attracts a crowd. The dim sum menu has something for everyone. The... dining room is small yet expansive with each diner having the privacy of their own table while still being part of the crowd. Inthe summer the large front windows open up revealing the street sights and sounds (and sometimes smells) of the bustle of thebig city. The fast friendly staff is attentive to detail, knowledgeable of the menu and leaves an excellent mark for the overallexperience. My overall review is 5 out of 5 stars for ambience, service and overall quality of the food. The food was all really tasty and I had a nice time with my family. Small complaint, the fortunes inside the fortune cookies... were just advertisements for personal wipes targeted at men. Like they all said things like life's messes will be cleaned upsoon. But then on the back it had the company name and the Amazon logo. I would definitely go back to this red restaurant again,but does my fortune cookie have to be used as advertisement space? Read more
The food here is delicious! We came for a dim sum brunch, and we ordered way too much because there were too many tasty options!... But no regrets - would do it again. Restaurant itself is clean, stylish, and the service was great. Can't wait to visit again! Read more
The ambiance was good but they forgot to bring my soup. We ordered 2 soups. Only one was brought to the table. I asked for hot... sauce. Never came. Asked again when when the waiter passed by. Still no hot sauce. I understand that they may be busy. But wheredid my soup go? Read more
We recently went to Koi after about six months (we moved out of Evanston). Everything we had was fantastic. We shared three... different appetizers and really enjoyed our entrees. I love the wine selection and my friendly enjoyed their cocktails. We hada nice table by the front with open windows. Our server was very attentive and the manager, Kyle made us feel like specialguests. We can’t wait to go back! Read more

We've come here several times after work for happy hour and we've never been disappointed. The happy hour food and drinks are... not reduced size, but regular, very tasty items, and we've had most of them. During happy hour, we can eat and drink until weare satisfied without sticker shock. Good food, attentive staff, and nice environment, and you might even find parking on thestreet just steps away. Read more
