Spent 25 minutes at their store in Evanston. Nobody so much as looked at us?there wasn?t a line. When a line formed behind us... and we asked if any of the three attendants would take an order, the one we asked said she wasn?t taking any orders. Abouteight customers walked out without ordering. Very bad customer service. Hours are listed on the door and online. The place is supposed to open at 11 I was there at 11:05.... When I tried to open the door it was locked and an employee came out and said they were not "completely open". I had no problemwith waiting as it was only 5 minutes after they were supposed to be open. As I was waiting I could see her cleaning and?getting set up? but she was on the phone the whole time. When it was past 11:30, the employee came out and said "Are youwaiting for cake or ice cream?" When I said ice cream she responded "Well we are not serving that right now". There wasno apology for the inconvenience. When questioned by me and another customer waiting she said that that was what happened whenthey were short staffed and when the closing shift didn't do what they were supposed to do. Well, I don't know what to say other than Cold stone was always my favorite place until they close their location on North... Halsted. We had great expectations and we end up with a bad taste in our mouth literally!! My ice cream left a greasy aftertaste and the lady used a lot of coconut and made it after a few bites inedible and my partner has chucks of ice. It was anawful experience and will never come back. I had the birthday cakre remix. Medium size. The woman was kind. The flavor was okey just not good enough for tourists. I mean... to sweets and to big portions. Medium size im the us would be the XXL size in europe. Remember that when you buy any kind ofthings to eat/drink. Read more
I am a long-time customer of Cold Stone, so was happy to have one close. Though Cold Stone ice cream is always delicious, I?ve... had issues with every order I?ve placed with this store. My latest order appears to be less ice cream than I ordered, and it hadan incorrect mix in. Costing over $20 for one item (photo below), I expect to receive what I ordered. The owner is very nice andpersonable, so it pains me to write this, but better attention to detail would go a long way. It would also be more of apositive experience if the store expressed a willingness to make things right for the customer when issues arise. Read more
I give one star merely because I like the franchise. I was very happy to patronize this Cold Stone creamery after seeing the... black owned sign in the window, but.... there were 4 teenage kids behind the counter, no one wanted to make our order, ayoung lady stepped up, but she was clueless as to how to make a menu item, I also ordered a mango/ strawberry smoothie thatstill had frozen ice in it, and as far as the taste, I do not know what it was. Tasted like cold milk and ice. It's a shamethat this owners business is being run like this. I hope there is a done kind of revamp because that was a terrible customerservice experience. Read more
They were the ONLY Coldstone to make my Mother a 'Celebration of Life' cake after she beat breast cancer in the exact design I... wanted, so I had to come back and say thank you! Everyone was amazed by the cake and they had it ready within 24hours! ThisColdstone was clean, had amazing customer service and quick service! I always support black-owned businesses and when I cameback in to get a scoop of my favorite ice cream, I luckily got upgraded a size. They're open, wear masks and are still keepingit clean through this COVID pandemic so I recommend a visit if you're ever in the area. Thanks for my sweet treat! Read more
