Great service at this nice relaxing restaurant. Had a good selection of beer. I only had one due to having the brisket Philly... cheesesteak, which had to be 2000 calories, but so worth it. Read more

Well, there's certainly been a lot of changes at T&G over the years. First, the staff there is awesome and are always friendly... and helpful. The beer, wine and drink selection is great. The weekly entertainment options are nice as well. And, the new owner,Wes, seems like a great guy. Really, the main frustration is the menu. It has changed a couple times fairly drastically over thepast several years. This past change though, is unfortunately, the tipping point for us. There used to be a lot of great, unique options that drew us there. The new menu is maybe a half step above dive-bar food. There's really nothing that jumps outas "I've got to go back to T&G and get that again" type food (maybe other than the poppers.) We heard that things got expensiveand/or hard to source... That's fine, charge more to make up for the cost. We understand. But just going to what's cheap andeasy doesn't sit well with us. There's just too many other spots around Eugene that have the trifecta (good food & drinks, goodentertainment, quality staff) for us to continue going to T&G. Kinda sad, because it's always been a go-to spot for us but timeschange... Finally, and really secondarily, because staffing has been a huge issue these past couple years... but when you tryto order food and are told you should order elsewhere because you won't get your food in the 2+ hours you anticipate beingthere, it seems like something there needs remedied as well. If I could give zero stars I would. My friends and I went out to celebrate my birthday and stopped in for a beer before our... dinner reservation elsewhere. My friend tried to order a beer from the bar, but his ID was denied even though it was a real IDso he offered a second ID which was a federal military ID and yet he was still denied. We were all denied and the bartender wasvery rude. Read more

The food is good and they have a great beverage selection including Crux non-alcoholic beer on tap, which is a perk for me.... There's no table service other than getting your food and beverages delivered so you have to order inside at the counter or onyour phone. That's a bummer because you have to go inside (the outside tables are the best place to sit) if you need anythingelse or if there's a problem with your order. I had the most expensive Cobb salad of my life, $21, and it was missing thegorgonzola cheese but there was a line at the counter inside so I couldn't really do anything about it. Of course I had alreadyadded the generous tip when I paid upon ordering so keep that in mind- you will get whatever "service" you happen to get. Was itworth $59 for dinner for 2? Before tip? Not so much. It bums me out because I want to support local restaurants. Read more

I had, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had in an eating establishment last night. Friends and I stopped by the Tap... and Growler to have a drink. We were ordering and tipping heavily, enjoying a visit together as long time friends. At onepoint, someone came by and quietly said it was last call. We respectfully didn't order more food at that time, but ordered onemore drink. We were deep in conversation, when the guy that had been at the register (short gray/blonde hair and black rimmedglasses) walked by with an outdoor umbrella and hit the wall and floor with it, hard enough that all of us jumped. He proceededto do it again with the next umbrella even harder. We were trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Never thinking it hadanything to do with closing. There were other patrons there as well, a very small and quiet crowd. Then he came to the tableand angrily said, okay you guys need to pack it up and leave, you were told you need to go because we're closing. We wereshocked. Nobody said they were closing yet. We would have respectfully left had we been told that. It was out of left fieldand downright disturbing. I will never set foot in there again, and I will warn others. My friends and I are all professionaland respectful people, this was so crazy. It was so shocking and embarrassing. There are so many other wonderful places tochoose from in Eugene. I've crossed this one off my list. I will not be subjected to his behavior again. NOTE: I will say thatthe cook was just wonderful and really friendly. In fact, he was so nice that we pooled together and gave him an extra largetip that he immediately put in the tip jar to share. Nice that you doubled down and shifted blame on the patrons in your replywhich just made it worse. My response was entirely after we were treated horribly and umbrellas were slammed. A shame. It wasunnerving. My stomach literally feels sick when I think about it. A terrible end to a wonderful ni Read more
