Hidden amongst the chaos of students partying and such, is this little gem. Very good dishes and student (big) portions. I love... ridding over for their Chinese sausage fried rice, not to be missed! By the way, the owner is super nice! Read more

Chef Bob is the heart and sole of Happy Chef, often being host, server, cook and cashier. The food is so good, it's hard not to... dig in on the drive home. I highly recommend the Twice Cooked Pork, House Special Lo Mein and House Special Fried Rice. So veryyummy! Read more

Excellent food, very nice people. This is a tiny Chinese takeaway in the middle of a thousand student apartments- I’m hoping... they’ll be very successful! We ordered pot stickers (good filling, deep fried pockets,) xiao long bao (lovely steameddumplings,) veggie lo mein (a little light on veggies, but lovely chewy udon noodles, and well seasoned,) chicken with tangysauce (stirfry chicken, with strips of mushroom and veggies, in a Szechuan style sauce that is, indeed, tangy and slightlyspicy,) and fried chives with bean curd (strips of tofu accenting stir fried garlic chives.) Everything tastes much more likethe food I grew up eating in and around San Francisco’s Chinatown. This food is redolent with 5 spice powder, and thin butintense sauces that are red with chili oil. Having tried them once, the next time I go I’ll order one of their seafood dishes, like the dry fried fish. If you’re looking for Cantonese-American food with heavy, sticky sauces followed by fortune cookies, this isn’t that. If you’re looking for generous amounts of Chinese stirfried and steamed foods, then give them a try. Read more

Very authentic Chinese food and big portion. Owner is also chef. He is very nice and polite. We are very satisfied with this new... found Chinese restaurant. The fried beef noodle is great. Taiwan braised pork with egg rice is just the same as we had inTaipei. Stir fires cabbage is really good. Read more
