I?ve been coming here for years, and enjoy the old time atmosphere. But $17 for a small basket of wings, now without any... veggies or dip is outrageous. The Old Sod used to have $10 baskets of wings (see old menu pic below) which included celery,carrots and dipping sauce. I would not have ordered the wings had I known the price and that they?d deleted the veggies anddip. Also they?ve deleted the mild, med and hot options, it?s now take what you get. On top of this I ordered a basket offries for $4 and I swear you get more fries in a medium cup at McDonald?s. I appreciate that ingredient costs have increased,but I can?t justify $17 for a small basket of wings. The whole point of going to dive bars is to have a few pints with yourmates, listen to some tunes and enjoy some cheap bar food. I fear the Old Sod has lost its way. Read more
Owners got some buddies who show up on the regular, drink too much & become belligerent with fellow patrons. He doesn?t seem to... care what so ever about the way this affects public opinion on his establishment. Terrible business owner. Maybe he?s a greatmoney maker but there?s much more that when it comes to owning a business in customer service. They also make him look bad whenthey call him by his first name & reference him as their ?boy?. Will never be going back to this establishment. I highlyrecommend everyone stays away from this faux Irish bar & stays away from his three buddies. They are violent when drunk. Read more
This is a bar with its own real history. There is a great atmosphere and very nice waitresses)
Bar staff was great, karaoke was loud, bar packed with just legal kids. They were obnoxious, loud and just wild. Karaoke host... seemed a little creepy to me. Kids before me were screaming into the mics, but I was told I am singing too loudly and try tocontrol my volume. What????? Rebecca was a welcoming and hard working member of the bar staff. I went to see my friend perform a set at this venue. The atmosphere was really fun and welcoming. Everyone knew everyone knew... every and those who didn't know eachother quickly became friends. They have an open mic night on Wednesdays and I plan on goingback next Wednesday. Read more
Just finish out out takeout. The brisket is just amazing and we loved the baked beans! Definitely putting this in our takeout... rotation. My don said pickup was delightful. There is parking in the rear and the staff made sure that he knew about the bestplace to park. In addition we got a lovely note and a glass! Read more
Great place! Friendly staff! I came by for the Leafs season opener and what a pleasant surprise! Come on out for the... game! Specials on domestic beer and wings for the game, what more could you ask for? I?m back again Friday for the second gameand hmmm, This is a good place to pass by! Read more
