Service: 5 stars Ambient: Ask to be outside and they have a nice patio with a good sound system, they're playing Fleetwood Mac... and chilled classic rock from the 70s and 80s. Food: The Meatloaf + Garlic Mash takes the first place, delicious. Then the ElkShepherd Pie, then the Nachos with ground beef, the burgers were ok, nothing special. Read more
The order was half rack of ribs, crumbly blue cheese on the side with loaded mashed potatoes and a side salad. Was charged full... price for a side salad and never got my crumbly blue cheese but it was still on the bill. I'm thinking it helps to be a localhere. I was amazed when the food came out within 3 minutes. Just hoping they were stored properly. Italian dressing had noflavor. I will say the elk Burger the guy eating next to me looked good and the beer was on point. Read more
After a full day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, this place was exactly what we needed! We got the scotch eggs with... bison sausage, as well as bison ribeye and elk tenrdeloins. They were all delicious but the elk was my favorite. A great way torefuel or relax, with great service and comfortable atmosphere. There's also a large patio out back! Read more

We ate at the Grubsteak tonight and it was fantastic!! They even bourbon glazed my steak for me when it didn?t originally come... like that! Also- I found one of my new, favorite wines here! Overstock was a great dry and somewhat sweet wine. Good selectionof drinks overall. Very friendly staff and GREAT food. Steak was cooked to perfection. Read more
This restaurant is good. They have delicious meats to choose from; yak, buffalo, elk. We had the yak burgers and they were good.... Unfortunately, our toddler wanted to ruin the outing by screaming for minutes on end...I apologize to our neighboring diners onbehave of our son ???? Read more
Ya know, from the street side, you'd have zero clue that they have a patio or outdoor seating. We happened to walk past here the... day before our visit here and saw the tables outside, so we knew to ask for outdoor seating. Our waiter (Daniel or David?sorry...) was VERY friendly, helpful, attentive and just made us feel welcome. Okay for the food, this is a great option forstepping away from the traps of chain B.S. This place has so many varied choices that use 'other' meats (yak, bison, trout, elk,boar, etc.). I had a yak burger and it was super yummy. My wife's trout, blackened, was tasty. Bison ribeye was a littlegristly, but flavor was nice. Meatloaf is good, too. Drinks were pretty solid and the whole experience was nice. Try some localbeers while you're there, too. Save your money and go somewhere else! This place was such a disaster. Elk sirloin dish - $35, it was disgusting. The chef just... dumped the food on the plate. See the picture of the dish to understand. It looked and tasted nasty. 1 piece of elk (I doubteven it was elk) was raw & the other was well done. I asked for medium rare. The coleslaw was old and dry. And they just dumpedsome veg on the plate. Even the plate it was served on was dirty. Asked for a bacon cheeseburger but got something elsecompletely Kids cheeseburger was hard as rock Lemon & basil margarita- Pure sugar syrup Asked for some sauce but the servernever got us any.
