Reviews for Amfora Mediterranean European Restaurant in Estero, FL
A very nice surprise. Did not know Amfora had replaced the other restaurant. Husband and wife owned. They use to work at... DeRoma's, another wonderful restaurant . Amfora has a casual atmosphere, open kitchen, excellent lunch and dinner choices. Thefood is not complimated, but fresh simple good ingredients . Beer and wine served. All desserts are made on the premises . Read more
My friends and I chose this restaurant to try something new for a nice Christmas Eve dinner. The service was seriously lacking!... While I know it was a holiday, they were just averagely busy, and there were still empty tables. We were there for a total of 2hours and 45 minutes. It took 20 minutes for her to even take our drink order and then another 20 for them to be delivered. After I watched her pour my friends beer and then watched it sit there getting warm for those 20 minutes! I didn't expect thefood to come out too quickly, but I would have liked to have drinks while I was waiting for it. She checked on other tablesMULTIPLE times before coming to us. She also bussed tables, and proceeded to pile all the dirty dishes from other tables on thetable behind us. It was gross! She finally came by to ask if we wanted another round. Another 20 minutes later our food came outand still no drinks. Not even more water! So we asked the guy who brought our food. He was the general manager and brought ourdrinks within like 5 minutes. The food was mediocre. My steak was good and potatoes were delicious. But one of my friends' fishwas dry and the other had absoluely no flavor. We eat our food and im hoping she comes back so I can put in a dessert orderearly. She doesn't. I finally order creme brulee after we have been sitting with empty plates and drinks for a few minutes...its an open kitchen, so I watch the lady torch it and sit it on the counter to be served. After 20 minutes of watching it sitthere, I am livid. I walk over to where it's sitting and the manager is standing there... he's like can I help you. And I waslike yes thats my creme brulee and its been sitting there for 20 minutes and hasn't been served to me. He asks where im sittingand brings it over immediately. The creme brulee was very good. She finally comes back and asks if we want the check and statesthere is no hurry. We said yes we want our checks and we are in a hurry. (We didn't want to sit ther Read more
Food was bland and overpriced for the quality of it. Chicken was boring, pasta was dull. Decor and vibe of the place are a plus,... service was quick and friendly. Read more

Great little spot in coconut point. The food was fresh and tasted like you were eating at somebody’s home. The ambience is... nice, although service was a bit slow. They are fairly new restaurant so I’m sure they are still working out the kinks. Iwould definitely eat there again Read more
Came back for our second visit last night— so happy to have Amfora in Estero! It can be hard to find really great consistent... culinary experiences in Florida and Amfora really hits the spot. The halloumi is perfect. The quality is there and theorange/preserved tomato with it was so interesting. I really enjoyed the octopus as well— so fresh! My husband ordered theWaygu Rigatoni for the second time— pasta was cooked so perfectly. The perfect toothy dente. I ordered the burrata and wow—they have to make this in house. You can really tell that the chef and his crew seek out the best ingredients for their dishesand take a lot of pride in what they put out. They had antipasti specials and entree specials which makes us want to come backand try out more things. Updated: I’ve come back to Amfora a few times since my initial review and although the food isphenomenal, the service/wait staff is a struggle. From door to door, a lunch took me 3 hours when it was very empty. The first45 minutes was difficult— couldn’t even get water or order wine. 5 stars for food, 3 for service. Read more
This place is tucked away in Coconut point. Great little spot for a date night or out with friends. Good food. Only beer or... wine, but a good wine list. My only disappointment was the baklava, it was really soggy and heavy on the cinnamon. Read more
