To The Farms family, I have a experience to share...Been a customer for years and just love the place and everything about it,... BUT recently couldn't help overhearing a party of 3 careless loud speaking adults seating back to back to our boot talkingabout been there to "evaluate" the place, sent by "the chef", more in a criticizing matter! Well, now I've got curious and inan effort the hear more about this, it all made sense to me when I heard "the chef's" name...RON ! Now I'm not a bit surprisedabout this as I happen to live literally a couple of blocks from this person in Gloucester. What surprises me is a family placelike The Farms to have this trash as a chef (the owners must not be aware of this, I'm sure). He's the most disgusting personI've ever known...If you're curious, just google his name... Ronald Martel. A bank robber, getaway driver that led in a death ofa the armored truck guard. For the SAFETY AND REPUTATION of the restaurant's patrons and stuff, I really hope that the ownersget aware of this! Read more

Went on burger night, which is Wednesdays. The food is great and the kids said that we have to come back. Kathleen was our... server and she is very friendly and accommodating. They have the Maine Beer Company on tap, and it was delicious. Read more

The worst meal I've ever had. Got the pulled chicken nachos It was like soup, The chips were soggy and barely any. They charged... me two extra dollars for sour cream. Then I got a quesadilla for my daughter and french fries and they were stale. They forgotmy husband's beer they didn't give us plates in the table with sticky and dirty. The bathrooms we're disgusting. The chickentenders weren't bad. So I guess that's a plus. We all feel sick won't be back. Read more

Had steak tips and ribs. Had reservations and was seated quickly. Our waitress/server was good. Our food order took 1 hour to... get to our table, and food was good. Ordered medium steak tips, and received medium rare to well pieces of meat. The ribs weregreat! Beers were cold and the Margaritas tasted great. Read more

My husband and I are always looking for different restaurants to try. My parents were In town for dinner and I was hoping to... take them some place nice to eat and enjoy each other’s company. Horrible horrible experience. The only thing that was goodabout it was our server, Kiah! The atmosphere was cute when we walked in, after being seated and ordering we realized there wasa table with loud children seated near us. Okay, so how bad can it be? We have raised four children, we were always able tosettle ours down. Nope, not here! Screaming at the top of their lungs to the point when they did, it made us all jump, at onepoint my husband jumped up because he thought something was wrong. Needless to say, the conversation at our table was limitedbecause we couldn’t hear one another. The food came which was mediocre. Shortly after we were apologized to, which we thoughtwas nice until we were told that it was the cook’s family so they were not going to ask them to leave. I was a little confusedbecause I thought, well if it’s not the cooks family would you ask them to leave? First, we didn’t complain to anyone so whythe apology? Second, the unneeded apology would have been enough you didn’t have keep digging the hole! As we were trying toeat the family got louder, one of the kids was jumping over the back of my booth trying to look over my head. During all ofthis, we were also experiencing no AC, the temperature in the dining room was over 80, which didn’t help the situation. I haveraised and been around children of all ages for over 30 years. I actually do PR and Marketing promoting children of all ages andtheir accomplishments. Never have I witnessed such a blatant disrespect and and disregard of other diners. My suggestion, ifthey were truly the cooks family, maybe they should be told to respect the people who pay his salary! If you like extremelyloud, warm restaurants with mediocre food…this is the place for you, otherwise, stay far away! Read more

The Farm Bar and Grille is an adorable and somewhat hidden gem in Essex. The building itself is tiny and if I hadn’t come... across it on Google maps I’m not sure I would have ever noticed it. I’m so glad I did! The food was wonderfully prepared andthe service was really lovely, especially considering there was only one waitress on the floor. *Remember, lots of places arestill short-staffed so please be kind! 1) The New England Burger: ME family farm beef, VT cheddar, NH cured bacon, MA bakedbrioche bun, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. 2) Surf & Turf: BBQ Steak Tips paired with your choice of haddock (baked or fried)or Cajun seared shrimp (I chose fried haddock) and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The portions were just right andthere was enough to take home to eat later on for dinner. I look forward to visiting this place again. Read more

Came here because we had a Groupon to use and were blown away. Very cozy, rustic atmosphere. Food and drinks are outstanding.... Get the BBQ nachos, a Pop Rocks martini and go from there. We will definitely be back soon! Read more
