We love this place! Great Country Fried Steak, the garnish of fruit was super yummy, and the portions were great! It's a family... run business, and I appreciate that they are doing a great job after Covid, food supply chain issues, nobody want to work, andyet they survive...bravo! Anyone who has ever run their own small business can appreciate this. Plenty of parking, and even havepatio dinning. Wow. Where to begin? This was definitely the WORST breakfast I have ever had. The biscuits were rock hard, the hash browns were... TINY and burnt, the kids pancakes were dry. The List goes on?we sat outside and the outdoor couch had a blanket on it. It lookedas if someone had spent the night there. Extremely overpriced for what you get, and based off the previous reviews and ruderesponses the owner has given paying customers, the place deserves to be shut down. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Read more
Update: it was so good the first time two months ago I decided to come back. I am just as pleased this time as I was the first... time. And they have more staff. I seen a sign that said under New Management. The new managers have taken over a few monthsback so I don?t know how the old reviews pertain to the new service. Food was amazing. Good food. Good fast service. The salad was super fresh. Dinner and coffee were hot. Prices were very reasonable. The dining... area was very clean and comfortable with a nice big semi-outdoor area. We are from Los Angeles, it was our 1st time visiting Escondido. Out of all the restaurants we could have gone to, We decided to... eat here, service was friendly. Our waitress was very tentative nd courteous, we ordered strawberry waffles, a built your ownomelet nd a built your own sandwich. Which by the way everything was delicious, although there was a small discrepancy on theMenu. She came apologize fist than explain the discrepancy, which I didn't mind. My husband has been here previously but I hadn't - they've re-opened recently after a change of management, so keeping that in... mind in my review, I'll try it again in a few months. The Good: Really spacious overall, the interior is nicely done and thereare plenty of booths. The outside patio is also quite spacious. The parking lot is even large. I enjoyed the atmosphere of theplace. Clean. Although we came at a very slow time, everything seemed very clean. Cheap draft beers. $3 Modelos, not bad. TheBad: Underwhelming menu. Very few options, although this is in part due to change of ownership and they sound like they'rerevamping their menu. The food. Although my husband liked the chili cheese fries and BBQ wings, I got a cheese quesadilla andit's pretty difficult to get a bad cheese quesadilla but, but I did. The menu says it comes with sour cream and salsa - but itdidn't. It was basically a kids menu quesadilla. Sub-par service. Again, I'm hoping this is more so due to the recent reopeningbut we were one of two tables at the time - we ordered a coke and never got it but it was still on our tab (I believe it was thebarback who brought us our check and rectified it) but for such a slow night to be missing sides such as sour cream, salsa and acoke it was pretty disappointing. My friend and came here for first time and we enjoyed it. How do you pass up trying in omelette named the drunken Viking... omelette??? You don?t. Delicious and the cinnamon roll French toast was darn tasty as well. Very friendly staff. Glad we cameand will be back. Read more
Had a great experience! Very pet friendly, as soon as we sat down the server immediately got my dog water and a beggin strip. A... lot of the previous reviews had me skeptical about the food, but I ordered the biscuits and gravy and have no complaints! Mybiscuit was fluffy and the gravy was flavorful. The home fries were dark, but definitely not burnt. They tasted amazing mixedwith my over easy egg and some tapatío. Great spot for your family and your pups! Read more
