Kudos for being open on a very soggy holiday. Their servers are quite kind. It's in a plaza so parking looked tight. I mention... this because they have a mini stage out front for music. We sat outside because indoors was freezing due to the AC being set toohigh. This is probably a good place to watch a game as they have many TV's. The food was okay. My mom prefers battered fish, soshe wasn't thrilled with her breaded fish sandwich (I love breaded fish!). I was really impressed with how big my cowboy burgerwas. We recently moved to Erie and had the kids fly in for the weekend. Decided to try The Colony for dinner after hearing of their... fresh Lake Erie Perch. We sat on the outside patio, Saturday August 21. We noticed a table of 4 people near us. One man at thetable acted like the restaurant owner or manager. Each person at his table of 4 was visibly intoxicated. The man/Manager walkedup behind the bar and helped himself to refill their drinks, then stumbled back to the table with glazed eyes. Next, the drunkman/Manager and his cronies got up from their table and walked 6 feet to another table and proceeded to chain smoke. SEE PHOTOS.In between their table and the outdoor patio full of patrons sits a 3-foot circumference industrial fan meant to blow fresh airthrough the restaurant. Instead, it blew their second hand chain-smoke straight at the tables! We were seated at the firstpatio table receiving the fan! We were choking and asked them to change the direction on the fan. They told us that couldn?t bedone so they shut the fan off only to turn it back on within two minutes. So, I pulled the plug on the fan so my children couldbreath while we finished our dinner. During dinner, the drunk man/Manager and his cronies gave us the STINK EYE, making ushugely regret our decision to EVER eat at the Colony. We paid our $200 bill, and tipped our server handsomely (it wasn?t herfault - It was her Manager?s). On leaving, the drunk man/ Manager said ?GOOD, THEY?RE LEAVING?I hope they don?t come back?. Ohyou can be sure of it, we won?t be back. Nor will other business. I have told my firm?s administrator about our experience, yousee my firm had hired The Colony to cater our Eight Great Tuesday?s tent only weeks before. She was disgusted that managementwould act that way towards their patrons. Hey Colony, have you heard of the Clean Air Act? It says NO SMOKING within 25 feetof a restaurant. Excellent food once it got there. Toke quite a while but arrived hot and yummy. I had the smoked prime rib melt with onion... rings. Good sized portions and good price. Size a salad was impressive and another diner said the perch sandwich was excellent. Read more
