Reviews for Las Olas in Cardiff, CA

We were in Solana Beach and we recommended to stop by and try Las Olas, apparently it?s a popular eatery amongst the locals and... tourists. This has got to be the best location. On one side, they have an ecological site that is pretty serene. And rightacross the 101 you have the water and beach. Such a great location. It?s definitely worth the experience. If you?re lucky, theyhave seating outside near the ecological site which is where we sat. But also have indoor as well as an outside patio space. Forfood, we had a Carnitas burrito ranchero style with tomatillo sauce inside. Five stars for that burrito. My guy Nick had ashrimp battered taco. It was presentable but for me lacked flavor. It was good but bland. Their salsa and chips were decent. Wewashed it down with some local brew native to the area, sorry I don?t remember the name. There will be a link to a YouTube videowith more details. All in all, it was a great experience. The staff were friendly, the views were epic and the food was good. Ifyou?re in the Cardiff or Solana beach area you?ve gotta come for the location and food experience for sure. Happy eating Fam! Read more

You place your order and pay for it as you enter the restaurant, then they deliver it to your table. The location is excellent... (right across the street from the beach) but the food was rather bland and tasteless. The burrito had white rice, rather thanSpanish rice in it. Chips and salsa are excellent, though and they're very fast to prepare and serve your food. Read more

Nothing better than sitting within earshot of waves breaking on the shore while enjoying a cold libation and some great food. ... Dirt parking lot, so don't wash your car before. The expanded dining area is great and lets one enjoy the ocean breeze. Read more

Update April 27, 2022: still friendly but now counter service and self seating. The open air seating in front gets too much... ocean breeze and road noise. Atmosphere is noisier, this time it was hard to have pleasant conversation. The background musiccontributed to that. Prices remain reasonable. Previous review: Friendly and attentive service. Plentiful parking in nearby dirtlot. Moderate noise level, conversation possible. Good food at reasonable price. Read more

Great little place for some good Mexican food. We came here on a Saturday right as they opened up and had a nice lunch. The... staff was very friendly and attentive. Our food came really fast but we were only the second ones to sit down. The have a niceatmosphere and a cool patio style seating area. The prices were what we expected. 40 bucks for two fill meals and just water todrink. Bu the time we left they were already getting pretty busy so it seems like a popular place. We will be back for sure. Read more

I've been coming here for years. The food and drinks are good but drink types are limited and premade. You can still sit inside... the front part of the place but not in the old main dining room, which is an unnecessary restriction. Apparently there's moredanger to sitting inside than there is in their new outside dining which is a couple of feet from a 60 mile an hour freewayintersection. Lastly, everything is extra, even worthless rice and beans. Pictured is a $21.50 (receipt attached to prove it)burrito filled with carne asada and a chili relleno. It comes with NO rice and no beans. Nothing. In the back ground, a carneasada enchilada plate. One enchilada, no rice and no beans. And they want a 20 percent tip too for having to order yourself atthe front counter. In olden days, like 24 months ago, this place would packed with a long wait every night. Tonight on Fridayit's basically slow and plenty of open tables especially by the freeway. People aren't stupid. So, for sticking it to me withno rice or beans...ONE STAR and good luck staying in business here in Cardiff. Read more
