The desserts were really good. I haven't had a good tiramisu in a VERY long time. This place makes it good. I would give 5 stars... if they were a little more affordable. Read more

I?m giving 2 star for staff being nice. Not impressed with the Italian pastrit all. Especially for a business that been around... so long. We ordered very simple items biscotti that was soft & dry flavorless & chocolate & vanilla lace cookies tasted weird. Read more

Hello, My name is Lee. First off I would like to say that I would NOT recommend this bakery to anyone! Reason being is on... November the 2nd (Wednesday) I went to pick up my Almond Butter Pound Cake with Strawberry Preserve in it. Upon picking up thecake, they (Serpe's Bakery Staff) physically showed me the cake. The cake of course looked good. When I arrived home andpresented the cake to my mother for her birthday, the cake top half was shifted to the side. I didn't think anything of it nobig deal. Once we cut the cake and served it, it tasted and smelled like cherry cake as if the preserve inside the cake wasCherry instead of Strawberry. Once I called and spoke with Laura (Employee), and told her what had happened, she (Laura)instructed me to send in a picture of the cake for proof which I did the next day. So once I did so, she (Laura) confirmed thatit was in fact Strawberry preserve filling based off of the fibers in the picture. My wife was trying to convince Laura that itwas Cherry filling instead of Strawberry filling. So I took Laura's word over my wife's ( I'm not a baker to begin with). So Ithen asked Laura could they do a partial credit for the cake being shifted and she (Laura) of course denied it. So I asked tospeak with a manager who's name I forgot, and Laura did so. Upon speaking with the manager. She (the manager) was alreadyinformed about what happened. So I (Lee) simply asked the manager could she give me a partial credit for my birthday cake inDecember, and of course she (the manager) denied it. She told me that they are not liable for anything that happens to the cakeonce it leaves the store which I fully understand. I instructed her (the manager) that I (Lee) brought plenty of cakes includingmy wedding cake which wasn't cheap from Serpe's bakery and NEVER until now experienced something like this before. I (Lee) toldthe manager that I (Lee) did not drive aggressive or brake hard with cake in my car. I even had it in a secure spot i Read more

This Bakery is a joke. They never have items in stock. I ordered a carrot cake and it was absolutely disgusting. It was dry and... tatse like melted crayons and molasses. The carrots in his cake were no exsitant. The decirations were really pretty but thecake was horrible. Whatever happened to the old fashion bakery that could bake and do decoration upon request. Today I visited my family in New Castle, Delaware. Anytime I?m in New Castle I make sure I get something from Ioannoni?s, my... favorite sub shop. Ioannoni?s depends on Serpe and Sons Bakery for their fresh sub rolls. Ioannoni?s opens for lunch orders at11:00am and I placed my order shortly after that. They informed me that their roll delivery was running late and they wouldn?thave my order ready until 11:45. When I arrived at 12:00 to pick up my order, the rolls still hadn?t been delivered and manypatrons were walking out of the sub shop very angry. I was informed by Ioannoni?s that this has happened on more than oneoccasion and it is affecting their walk-in/call-in orders as well as their catering orders. This has put a strain on Ioannoni?sbusiness and I think this is extremely unfair. Serpe?s Bakery opens early enough in the morning to bake and deliver their rolls. Is it the bakery or the delivery driver that is at fault? I?m not sure, but either way this is extremely unfair to businessesthat depend on them for their rolls. And, this is something that needs to be addressed by Serpe and Sons. Read more
