I normally like to eat at a place a few times before I give a review. I have now had take out from Elm Desi 4 or 5 times, and... have not been disappointed. I have eaten at a few Indian restaurants in Barrie, and the food here is far superior. Prices are atad high, but that is the cost of doing business in the restaurant industry these days, not their fault. I highly recommend yougive it a try! Read more

Ordered takeout from here and was happy with the prompt and friendly service. 40 minute estimate was spot on with my pickup.... Food was delicious and hot even with our 25 min drive home. Ordered take-out ahead, only waited 5 min for it once I got there. Place had a weird smell, like mildew in a basement. There was... absolutely nobody there. The place itself looked nice enough. The guy I dealt with was nice, but unsmiling. The food was prettygood, not as authentic as I've tasted from other restaurants. I'll probably be back. Read more

If you?re looking for a different sort of Indian restaurant, this place is worth checking out. While neither our butter chicken... or korma was flavoured or spiced with what you?d expect? it was delicious food. The spice was lacking greatly, but that?ssomething you can always dial up yourself. I liked the presentation and service. However, the food was too salty, rice was slightly over cooked and not enough vegetables... in the biryani. It was hot and didn?t take long time to prepare but I guess it could be improved. Read more
