Without a doubt the best NY Strip steak I?ve ever had. Cooked to a perfect medium rare with a perfect char on the outside. I... also had the clams and sweet peppers as appetizers which were excellent as well. Pasta side dish was cooked perfectly and themarina sauce had that old world feel and taste. What a fantastic place to dine. Our first time at Lib?s and it exceeded our expectations! The staff is welcoming, accommodating... and provides great service. The portions are HUGH, flavors are amazing and fresh. We had pasta, shrimp and egg plant forentree?s, Shrimp cocktail and roasted red peppers for appetizers. The wine list is very impressive with great choices fromaround the globe. We look forward to our next experience at Lib?s. Read more
Had a party for the family matriarch, 25 people. Ate off menue no one went home hungry! Food was excellent, bread was to die... for, service was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere was very homey! The price was very reasonable, averaged 25 bucks per person all up all in. We spent nearly 3 hrs enjoying the family time, never feeling rushes or hushed! Read more
A staple in a Elmira. Libs might not be overly fancy but the food speaks for itself. The staff was attentive and accommodating.... I had the filet with a side of their famous peas. The steak melted in my mouth. The peas dripping in butter were a deliciousside,and the generous salad to start was amazing with the basket of fresh Italian bread to go with. Consistently amazing food!! I've tried several dinners, & ALWAYS above average, great service & selection. Extra large... portions!! We go back every other month...its a special treat! Think of the restaurants in the background of the great gangster movies and you are sitting in Lib's. I am a very picky Italian... restaurant eater since I grew up surrounded by family members who produced exquisite Italian dishes on a daily basis. I waspersuaded by my Italian cousins to try Lib's tonight. The place was packed! I ordered the Shrimp Provencal. That was my error.The shrimp were prepared well and tasted fresh. Unfortunately I'm not a shrimp fan. Second problem was the overwhelming amountof soggy mushrooms on top of the linguine. The pasta was not drained well so that the large ladle of red sauce poured over theplate did not make it down to the pasta. The portions are huge. Much more generous than you can imagine. The sauce was good.The garlic was fresh chopped and the drinks from the bar were refreshing. Read more
