We originally had a reservation for 6 people to celebrate my parent?s 56th anniversary. Unfortunately, my parents were a little... sick with a cold, so we decided take out might be a better option. We arrived to pick up our dinners, and we were greeted by theowner who showed us around the beautifully renovated restaurant. She made sure our order was just right, and the chef came outto make sure that the honey butter was added to our order with dinner rolls. The staff was so nice & pleasant! We got home withour dinners, and all 6 of us ( different dinners) could not believe how GREAT the food was! The meatloaf, pigs on a blanket ,and red snapper were favorites. ( although we could have made a meal out of the rolls & honey butter, omg!) This was our firsttrip to Blue Shutters, but definitely will be back! Next time we will save room for dessert????! 09/2022: Ordered takeout for 11 people. Drove 30 minutes to pick it up. Why not? Blue Shutters looks good. Returned, 30 minutes,... back to the cabin and was missing a third bag or three meals. No phone call to return for missing bag. Called Blue Shutters andthey had the third bag and offered to drive it 30 minutes. We expressed what we were missing over the phone and via text. Thirdbag showed up missing an entree and side. We give up. What we thought would be a nice dinner turned out to be a cold dinner at8:45PM. The food was simply okay. No credit, no refund, and no more future visits. Keep it simple around these parts. Andremember! Always check your order before leaving no matter who orders the food. Read more
Upon arriving at the Restaurant you could feel and see immediately that something special was happing here. From the Historic... Building, wood cooking aroma in the parking lot, the real gas lantern lights and welcoming entry. As you enter you immediatelynotice the interior décor that was certainly professionally done and very well integrated. The great looking and friendlyprofessional staff made you feel welcome immediately. I couldn't believe a Restaurant of this caliber has found it's way tothis small town area. We are well traveled and the Food, service and libations were Outstanding. The wine list supportingAmerican winery's was properly and carefully created. The menu is a full array of very creative culinary creations and uniquechoices. Needless to say the whole evening followed suite. The Blue Shutters is a must. This was our first visit since the reopening. We love the renovations to this upscale historical restaurant! It is a perfect... place to celebrate a special occasion. We were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday. I tried a Moscow mule... perfect! Wealso liked the Hurricane Shutters from the creative drink menu. We enjoyed the chorizo and coconut shrimp appetizers. Thedinner rolls with the roasted garlic butter were a hit! I had the hardwood grilled pork rib chops and they were amazing! Theyhave a few unique vegetarian options worth checking out. We ordered four of the desserts to share. All of the desserts werelarge, impressive and delicious! We will certainly be back with friends! A truly unique dining experience. So different from your Italian restaurant, or most local restaurants. The building has... been redesigned and is a splendid atmosphere. The menu is so unique you have to see it. And the chef will come tableside toexplain his preparation and presentation. Stop in soon. Read more
