This place is a gem. All foods are tasty. Try mouth watering chicken. It?s just so good. Soybean paste noodles are also amazing.

I have been visiting this place since they opened, and I can guarantee their customer service and food are always so good and... consistent. My personal favorite is spicy beef noodles and dan dan noodles. I am a huge fan of chili oil, and pepper house hasby far the best chili oil in this area. Loved the right amount of spicy and savoriness in every dish I have tried. Kudos to theowner who always greets customers with smile and kindly explains about each dish to ensure customer satisfaction. Read more

I don't understand all the five star reviews. With a name like "pepper house" you expect the food to at least be spicy. It's... not. My friends and I ordered 4 different dishes and none had any kind of spice. Furthermore, if you're serving Sichuan dish, please use Sichuan peppercorns. Nope, none were used. All of our dishes were coated with some kind of flavorless red chili oilthat wasn't even spicy. Also way too much noodles and not a lot of meat or veggies in each dish. As for my spicy oil wontons, the pork filling has no flavor. All the food were very bland. Read more

I?m impressed with this restaurant of serving Dan Dan Noodles. I haven?t had good Dan Dan Noodles since I was in Philadelphia a... few years ago and Pepper House beats it and it?s portion was much more than the other restaurant that I went to. I will comeback and next time I?ll buy a homemade chili to go. Also the owners are nice people, and that?s good enough to me. Read more

Delicious! So much flavor! This is easily the best Sichuanese food I have had in the Balt/Wash area and without a doubt the best... Dan Dan Noodles I have ever tasted. The spices are absolutely on point - a good balance of chili-spice and numbing-spice. Thestaff are very friendly. The lady who took our order helped us choose what to order and gave us several tips for how to bestenjoy what we ordered and even coached us on how to optimally mix our noodles. I loved the enthusiasm! Service is fast; one ofour dishes was almost ready by the time we finished paying. Portions are generous. The restaurant is clean and has beautifuldecor. The ambience is lovely. I can't wait to visit again! Read more

Edit 1/16/2022: They have new dishes as of 1/1/2022. Favorite new dish is the beef dry pot. I got it super mala and it?s a keto... dream if you don?t eat the rice it comes with. Comparing this to other dry pots I?ve had: -missing the Szechuanpeppercorn?crunch. I didn?t really see any of the peppercorns in the dish. They must use commercial Szechuan peppercorn oil butI?m not complaining because that?s what I use at home. -slightly more oily (possibly from my super mala request) than some butfar less than some of places in Rockville -There is a good ratio of cabbage-meat. I will def be back for this dish. Glad theyare open to adding more things. Edit 9/2021: Came back again yesterday as I saw they had some new items. The very friendlylady was running the dining room again. Even got to meet the chef this time. He was also very nice. I ended upgetting: -Germantown Beef Jerky 15.98 (sweet, savory, spicy, numbing, all at once) -Mr. and Mrs. Smith (P) 13.98 (sliced beef, tripe, peanuts, celery; served in a spicy, sweet, and numbing sauce) -Chengdu Style Wontons in a Spicy and Numbing Broth13.98 (pork and shrimp filling) Make sure you dine in for the best experience. Every item i got this time was worthy of a5-star experience: 1. The beef jerky had a good mix of flavor, though five spice shines through the most. 2. The Mr. and Mrs.smith was really good as well. Less numbing and more on the sweet side. 3. I asked them to make the wontons "super mala" andthis time they came through. It was at a numbing level I could actually feel and was really good. The chef was alsoimpressed. As I look to move back to a low-carb diet (sadly can't eat noodles), I will definitely be back for the beef jerkyand mr/mrs smith. I do hope as they grow and expand the menu, they can do mapo tofu, 3-pepper chicken, and double cooked pork. They do everything else so well, those would probably also be out of this world. Original Review: Solid Szechuan noodles. Camehere to give Read more

Such a friendly lady there. She helped us choose three dishes to share. For non spicy option the wontons in chicken broth were... exceptional. I had regular spicy beef noodle soup. It wasn?t painful spicy at regular level. Quite flavorful and comforting on acold day. Read more
