Good morning everyone went to visit my mother's family this that weekend the first day we were there we stopped to Sonny's for... lunch we went to the walk-up window which is pretty interesting to me because we don't have any of those here where we live atnot as I know of I had a turkey sandwich with extra cheese on garlic bread and French fries the sandwich was awesome the frenchfries was a little dry they didn't taste to be as fresh as I would like but okay I had a sweet tea with no ice and a lemonadewith no ice the drinks was not that great not enough tea for myself and not enough lemon flavor but it was drinkable but notthe best blessings Read more
Brooke's service was outstanding! Every company should have at least 10 of her lol. She was so pleasant, funny, friendly and had... such a positive attitude. She always made sure that we had everything we needed and was always one step ahead. The food was goodtoo. The best Sonny's I've had. Food was spot on. I had a very rough week and this little gesture (cup art) literally made my day.... She didnt know my situation and horses are my favorite. The girls at the pickup window were the sweetest and they deserve to berecognized. Read more
Lauren is a blooming flower who brightened my day with sweetness! My Sweet Caroline pulled pork sandwich topped with homemade... coleslaw and the Carolina sauce was just like momma used to make it ..slow-cooked with perfect BBQ flavor... the green beans aretender, buttery n delicious! The service was Awesome. We ordered the family feast which brought a little of everything the baked beans were good the... cornbread was off the charts amazing however all the meats were just blah very bland it had this reheated taste like who wascooking the cook or the microwave. I even gave it a second chance by drowning the meats in BBQ sauce and yeah just blah... Read more
"Sonny's Changes Direction" -St.Johns Post 2014. Well, it did change but not for the better. Last I checked this was a BBQ... Restaurant not a football stand. Eating here is a hit or miss and this last time is definitely a miss. The place smelled musty(I would imagine that's from the very dusty vents on the ceiling along with the wet drop ceiling around them), the food came outsuper fast which somehow I had food that was both too hot and stone cold. Got the Sliced Brisket and the feeling from my fingers(did I mention they didn't give us cutlery?) It felt... Rubbery???? It was over cooked and was more of a Flavorless Roast Beefthan a Brisket. The fries where, well fries but cold and unsalted. Got lucky with the corn cob just felt like I was an hourlater to the boil and plucked it out of cold, butter water. My Mum got ribs, those where also very flavorless. All you couldtaste was the sauce. No Salad bar, now its replaced with where your online orders go. Slaw and Sweet Tea were very good, thenagain its very hard to mess those up. Don't see us returning which is very disappointing. Read more
This place really was great. We had a huge order for our company Labor Day celebration lunch and they did not let us down. They... had everything all packed up neatly. The sandwiches were warm and delicious, and the brisket sandwich was so tender. Baked beanswere out of this world!! Fantastic service. Brooke and Cass were the sweetest!! Read more
