Reviews for Salt Water Cowboys in St. Augustine, FL
Great ambiance and service. Seafood is good not great. Lacks some choices (no clams, mussels, one scallop choice) but has some... others. Little heavy on the sauces. When oysters are out of season it is really shrimp and fish. More fried options then I carefor. Fried calamari was outstanding. They also need to learn how to make a whiskey sour. Read more

We have been coming here for over 20 years and it was our all time favorite restaurant. Tonight upon entering, we found no AC in... the main eating area. We were lucky to ask to be reseated in better air and we're moved to the back. Understanding these thingshappen, we settled in for a fantastic dinner. We were then told they no longer offer their awesome bread, but still have theirfamous salad. (It's a must have!!) Unfortunately we then found out the business was sold in Dec and the new owners took down allthe old world Florida charm decor and now there is just white bare walls. The menu was reduced and prices were up and It's justnot the same. I will say the wait staff is AS WONDERFUL AS USUAL!! I sincerely hope the new owners reconsider the changes andbring back what made this place a bucket list every year. I can't tell you how often I recommended this place simply because ofit's charm.. Great dining experience! We got there at the end of a big turn. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about what the kitchen... have and what the kitchen didn't have, Which to me defines a great restaurant if the people who are serving you the food knowexactly what's going on in the kitchen! Saturday evening around 7.30pm second time here and the place was full. They were out of a lot of what was on the menu but... Shrimp salad was good. Service was pretty fast considering how busy they were. Liked that the waitress opened all the blinds toso we could all watch the sun setting and it was beautiful. Will be back - definitely recommend this place. Read more
The location and old Florida atmosphere is fun. Reminded me of trips to see my grandparents and dining out with them. We had the... 3 way shrimp that was tempura, fried and bbq. It was OK but nothing to get excited about. I have had better shrimp prepared thesame at other restaurants. Get there early as it can fill up fast and becomes a long wait. Read more
