Chef Vargas is a delightful hidden gem in the Elkins Park area. I treated my family to brunch and everything was delicious.... Chicken and Waffles: waffles thick and fluffy, chicken crispy flavorful and tender. Apple Cider Donut French Toast: unique twiston French toast. It was soft, sweet, and delicious with savory cuts of bacon in between. The whip cream and berries andperfectly with the apple cider flavor. It is a small dish?just FYI. Sweet Potato Breakfast Hash: twist on hash using sweetpotatoes. The potatoes were tender, peppers blended in well with the eggs. The Barbacoa was tender, delicious, and added auniqueness to a dish. Pancakes were the softness and fluffiest I ever tasted. I will definitely be back to try more and thetacos. Read more

Quick summary: Poor portions. Male Chef has poor customer service skills. Over priced for the portions (at least for our meals)... . Food comes out cold. Poor ventilation in the kitchen. The first time we came here was pleasant (Food was great, customerservice was great). Every time after that has been the opposite. Shout out to the two female waitress that at least know how tospeak to their customers. I?ve noticed that the more crowded they are, the smaller amount of food we get and the poorer serviceas well. If you can?t take the heat, get out the kitchen. Today I let the waiter know about an issue with my breakfast and hejust walked by the kitchen without letting them know so I had to approach the chef myself . When I did, the male chef had ZEROknowledge of proper customer service. I got my side when I was done my pancake so I sent it away but I was STILL charged for it.Not to mention, people that were seated after my table got their food out before our food came out. When some of our food didcome out, it was cold. There was poor to no ventilation so it was smoky, overwhelmingly. They charged $3.00 for blueberries, .75for whip and charged me two sides of potatoes that came out when we were done and a coffee that we got half way through ourmeal. Read more

A hidden gem, an adventure in flavor and a must if in the area. Little odd to find but ask the front desk to show you the west... side door. It?s inside the building. Everything is good, the staff is delightful. Everything on the perfect menu is worth a try.First time of many for me. I gotta come back! Read more

What a wonderful surprise! This intimate restaurant is the perfect place for a brunch date. Although the signage could be better... (to help it become easier to find ? it?s located in the Elkins Park Condos, first floor of Building A), the decor inside isvibrant and inviting ? just like the staff. With items such as Churro Waffles and Chilaquiles on the menu, there?s a littlesomething for everyone. Read more

My only complaint is that this place was hard to find. I drove around way too long trying to find it. I eventually had to call... them to get help. Better signage would help to make the process easier. The address listed will take you to Elkins Park House.Enter the apartment complex from Spring Ave, turn left and park in lot A. The restaurant is through the double doors up theflight of steps pictured. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The servers were very pleasant. It?s cash only but they have anATM available. Read more

I came here on Saturday May 21 at 11:30 am and was seated immediately. The food was delicious and our waitress was kind. I... highly recommend the Farmer's Meat because it's savory, gives you a good portion of everything, and it's a reasonable price. Ialso highly recommend the drink, it was very refreshing. The only two cons would be the ambiance and environment of therestaurant that day and the tables. It was not my first time coming here but it has been awhile. Children were running aroundeverywhere and it was super loud, so it was not as peaceful as it was supposed to be. Similarly, the tables were way too smallfor everything to fit properly alongside with the utensils and condiments. It just felt very squished together and we werepractically side by side with other table which made it very uncomfortable. Nonetheless, the food was amazing like always andthe service was still great. All in all, 4 out of 5 stars for the parking, service, food, and price. Read more
