Reviews for Brick House Restaurant & Catering in Elk Grove, CA
Two couples with reservations. Got right in on a very busy night. Our table was in a very nice spot. We could view all around... but we could have a conversation without having to raise our voice nor hear the people around us. Food was superb, service wasexcellent being their without hovering. We didn't feel rust. The meals were ALL excellent prepared, presented and came out atthe same time. Very impressive. We will definitely come enjoy again! Read more
We had the sautéed mushrooms as an appetizer and it was delicious!! I have found my new favorite appetizer! For dinner we... ordered the Ravioli and the Beef stroganoff and both were really good. The meat sauce in the ravioli dish was perfect but thecreamy pesto lacked flavor and the beef in the beef stroganoff just melts in your mouth. I did add a little salt and pepper. Read more
My grandma Gladys, bless her heart, gets out of the hospital, and first thing she asks for is minestrone from brick house. Best... minestrone she's ever had. Coming from a 91 year old woman who cooked for a big family her whole life, during a time whenrecipes were sacred and passed down through generations... Well, you get the idea. Great food. Other than that it's a veryupbeat place with a very friendly and classy vibe. The bar is also excellent. All around pretty hard to beat. Read more
In town for baseball. I found this place on Yelp and after looking at the pictures I was sold. The farmer's special with polenta... was legit. I will definitely go again if I am up in the area. Read more
The two of us had a great dining experience here. We shared the Salmon and Short Ribs. We both opted for the 3-course meal by... adding both minestrone soup (not pictured) & salad. Everything down to the soft texture of the bread & fragrant garlic butterwas delicious. Service was good as well. Parking does not seem to be an issue since there's a lot with plenty of signs which arereserved for guests dining here. It's locally owned with a full bar. Located in old town Elk Grove. There's also a happy houroffering. It's basically gourmet with a hometown feeling to it. You can taste the love, passion & comfort in the dishes served.Everything was seasoned well & tasted fresh. No salt & pepper needed. Read more
It's been a long while since we've visited this place and my companion and I ventured in on a Tuesday night hoping for a quiet... time. Well, they had a fundraiser going and it was doing great so the dining room was rather packed and while being seated thereI request out front, being the better option - no problem. We kept it simple and ordered entrees - Salmon and veggies for mycompanion and Lasagna for me. Thinking that the salmon MUST be farmed, since it wasn't listed as wild caught, and knowing thereare several options and various qualities when it comes to farmed product, I asked our server about the salmon - where it isfarmed. She didn't know but told us that she has the owner order extra for her and her family because her dad, who's picky abouthis salmon, loves it. She was great! As busy as the place was, I didn't want to inquire further and we went with it. Glad wedid. The salmon was excellent, generous serving, moist with a very fresh, clean flavor and perfectly cooked. The veggies weresteamed with a simple light seasoning, so satisfying. My lasagna was really very good, but different from most, yet in a goodway that I'm not sure everyone would appreciate. First - it is HUGE! And that's all you'll get is this BIG ramekin. It is layerupon layer of pasta and cheeses, 3 inch thick and doughy - the perfect comfort food. A hearty meat-laden sauce smothers thewhole thing and adds ample tomato acidity and savory meatiness for the entire meal. Somehow, I ate the whole thing, probablyshouldn't have. Definitely shouldn't have... It would be nice if this was a smaller portion, like half, served with salad andminestrone, but the option is just to add soup & salad to the already huge serving. The thing is, it gets a bit monotonouseating that much lasagna, even thought it's sooo good you don't want to stop. And all the pasta options are the same. Will Iorder this again? You bet, but I'll likely share it or take half home... or just indulge in gluttony - again Read more
Went for dinner on a a Friday night and tried this place out for the first time. We started with the calamari. We thought it... was ok, but was anticipating getting calamari rings and tentacles instead of calamari steak...not quite the same. We had theribeye and salmon. The ribeye was tender and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The salmon could use a little less parsley as itwas a little overpowering in taste. The service was pretty good with our waitperson being very attentive. We weren't impressedwith the ambience...a little too noisy for a dinner that was $120+ for 2 people. Overall, the place seems like a nice place forhappy hour. If you don't mind the noise while celebrating a special occasion, this place works. Read more
The best Calamari and Coconut Shrimp I've ever had. All our dinners were amazing and very filling. The service was top notch and... the manager or owner stopped at every table to see how things were. Would definitely recand come back if I'm ever in town again! Read more
