Reviews for The Arsenal in Elizabethtown, NY
Recommend calling ahead of going. Google listing hours, website hours, hours on the building and actual hours are all very... different. We drove up on a Sunday when their Google listing said they were open and they were closed. Drove up another day andwaited 40 mins in the car for when they said they were open on the website and they said we had to wait another 30 mins (1.5hours later than their Google listing says). I always frequent small time dinners and was looking forward to a visit but afterseveral trips and the constant change of hours we weren't able to see what this place was all about. Read more
Honestly the dumbest experience I've ever had. Their website says one time, Google says the other , we have shown up when they... were supposed to be open and they are closed and the 4th time we went after waiting for 30mins and sat down and they said osorry the cook won't be here for another 30 mins or so. Waste of time Read more
Waitress was nice, but overwhelmed. Food was not good. Poutine had huge chunks of cold cheese, no sauce offered for chicken... tenders. Read more
I wanted a stack of pancakes and a stack of pancakes is exactly what I got. Delicious!
Let's start with the great things first - food. Wow. Unexpectedly great food, far exceeding expectations for a mom and pop diner... attached to a motel. I had the Michigan's, which we're on perfectly toasted buns, super tasty meat sauce, and with onion ringsthat were perfect. You know how onion rings usually disintegrate when you bite into them? These don't. Get them. My friend gotthe Greek salad which was super fresh and a big portion, had the right balance of "stuff" and a gluten free dressing! Theservice family was great, service with a smile! But there was not so great - we waited 30 minutes for food, and there seemed tobe something going on in the kitchen - not prepped for lunch service and a lot of running around for a room with only 24 seats. That's not likely to happen again - so GO there and I'd bet anything on that menu will be great! Went there for the first time for breakfast. The place is very nice and cozy feeling inside. The server was very freindly. The... breakfast menu was good with fair prices and some interesting and unique options. But unfortunately the food wasnt cooked well.My husband and I both got omelets, which the meat inside and also the outside of the omelets themselves were burnt. We were alsothe only two people there at this time so being busy at the time wasn't the issue. They obviously have the grills turned up toohigh or the cook isnt paying much attention to what he's cooking. Also payed $3.00 extra to get a side of home fries with myomelet which was a very small portion. Very disappointing because as I said they had a few unique breakfast options and the sizeof the omelets were great, the cook just needs to figure out how to execute it better and it could be a great place. I love The Arsenal. Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. They do close at 2pm so be sure to catch them before then. The... food was fresh and made to order. The blue berries in my pancakes were real blueberries and they also served them with realmaple syrup. I went back for lunch and got a burger. They use fresh ground beef and you can choose your wellness. The fries andonion rings were made to order and fresh. The waiter was extremly attentive and pleasant. They do have indoor and out doordinning right now. They also have a nice little swing out side that is a perfect place to wait for your order. I enjoyed thislittle dinner. Read more
Stopped for breakfast. Super friendly ladies! Food was delicious and portions were huge. We were in the area for a couple days... (we live 4 hours away) and if we get that way again, we'll be sure to stop in again. Read more
