My first time eating at JR. Let's start with the positive side. The staff were nice and friendly, I felt comfortable. I was so... happy that they had gluten free buns! The fries were tasty and well fried. The not so positive. The music was too load, maybeI'm getting old :-) The burger was not for me. It taste like a Swedish Pannbiff (minced meat mixed with onion, egg and breadcrumbs formed into a patty). It didn't go well as a burger. Hopefully it will taste different next time I try JR. I passed by today for the first time in years. The food use to be taste way better back in the day. Service was beyond mediocre... and our waitress barely acknowledged my table. I noticed that there was 3 plates with burgers sitting on top of grill waiting tobe brought to the tables. They sat there for 6 minutes or so. Turns out that one of those plates was mine. I also noticed myserver off to the side on her phone quite a few times instead of checking in on the table. That seemed to be the most importantthing instead of actually doing her job. Normally, clients don?t have to chase after their waiter. They come to check in onthem. After asking for the bill, the waitress brought back the receipt with the tip section circled. The food came after 40 minutes! For 2 burgers with fries, that is the longest time I?ve ever had to wait. Unfortunately I was... also disappointed with the quality of the food. One sandwich was dry and the bun was burnt. The other sandwich?s bun was burntas well and the beef tasted nasty! The fries were hard like rocks and bitter. I had the Philly steak and green salad with a coke. It was super busy and the food was good. The waitress I had was super... friendly and checked on me thru out my time there. We've eaten at a few Johnny rockets in New Jersey, including the one in Hoboken and Paramus. This was our first time at the... Elizabeth location. Of course there are problems with the location being so small and the line outside having to wait to getin, but that doesn't affect my review. Our actual wait outside wasn't too long less than 10 minutes, so that was good. Howeverwhen it came to the actual burger, they weren't cooked enough. They tasted like they could have got a few more minutes on thegrill just to get to medium rare. But regardless of the amount of cooking, the burger is really lacked that flavor a burgershould have. We also paid $2.00 extra for the unlimited fries, but being how busy they were it took too long to get to friesmaking that $2.00 a waste. There's a jukebox in the corner entrance, feel free to select the free song to play before you sitdown. Also there is another entrance closer that we saw people walk in and sit down from while they were still a line of peoplewaiting to get in. This is something that should be roped off to prevent those that feel too privileged to wait. I was alsoshocked that how disgusting the refrigerator looked for orders waiting to be picked up! It was very, very busy here. The waitress was nice and did a great job considering. The problem, surprisingly was the food. ... All 3 of is and nobody finished their food. We weren't even going to box it up but hate to waste food. They were just burgersand a hotdog but to put it in perspective, I almost always finish my food ordered out. We walked into Johnny Rocketts and that?s when the service went downhill. My family and I sat down and we waited and waited... for menus. The server gestured that she would bring them over after she was done with another customer. Finally she came overand ordered our food. She returned and replied ?No more chili? and I said ?huh?, so I immediately changed my order and then wewaited and waited for our food. I asked hubby ?Do you want to leave? and he said ?Ahh let?s give them a chance?. While waiting Iobserved others waiting and leaving. We finally received our food after a long wait? food was okay but nothing to brag tograndma about. In the past we have visited this establishment and the service was nothing like the service we received. Theyonly had two servers on the floor but a ton of people in the restaurant?
