Reviews for la Madeleine in El Paso, TX
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The chocolate tart was great!
Very nice ambience and good service. I didn?t come for the ambience and the service though. The food is clearly pre baked... somewhere and the recipes are not even close to being that of a French Bakery. The facade and reviews got me in here but this isthe first and last time. The quiche has a crust of a stale pot pie and the contents have the taste of leftover ham andeggs. The coffee ( French roast ) will definitely beat any 7-eleven coffee on its best day ( and no, it?s not a compliment) It?sdiluted and not hot. The pastry ( cherry danish)reminds me of the Starbucks brand, yes the one that they pull out of a plasticwrap and throw it in their quick warmer. Read more
Visited for breakfast on a weekday. Friendly service, but the quality of the breakfast was disappointing. The bacon reminded... us of Costco pre-cooked bacon. Avocado toast had a razor thin scrape of avocado on a small slice of bread. Read more
Greeted by a lovely lady but didn?t pay attention to my drink order. As it being my first time I asked for a lemonade which... there was 2 options (from the jar or a bottled drink) I got charged the bottle and was wondering why I never got my ?poured?lemonade throughout my stay. I noticed the lemonade jar in the fridge behind the cashier. So I wasn?t clear as why I never gotmy drink the whole time I?m eating. Assuming I was going to be served a lemonade directly to my table. I figured out that I wascharged a bottled lemonade after I was done eating. Hence I was a little upset. But it was a misunderstanding. I?m not from ElPaso so maybe it was assumed I was a local. I believed I ordered a cream pasta chicken. I wasn?t expecting the canned chicken inthe pasta. I strongly believe the pasta had canned chicken. Very disappointing ???? Surprisingly it?s was very good. It?s justthat canned chicken isn?t something I would pay for. Lol Kinda awkward. Great bread! ???? Lovely pastries and ambiance though. Iwill still go back. Nothing personal. ???? Read more
Clean restaurant with nice sitting area. The place has a good selection of food and pastries. During my visit I had the croque... monsieur and a bowl of the famous tomato basil soup. The soup was tasty but too acidic in comparison to Panera's tomato soup.Regarding the croque monsieur, the sandwich lacked seasoning in my opinion. Overall, it was a good meal. For dessert, I had amini fruit tart, mini cheesecake, and mini lemon tart. Out of all three, the lemon and fruit tart were absolutely delicious. Themini cheesecake was not the best. Regarding customer service in this location, it was average. The waitress was not happy when Iinformed her that the silverware in the counter area was dirty. Also, my tomato soup was lukewarm when served. I asked them towarm it up and the second time they brought it out it was still lukewarm. Until the third time, they actually served it hotenough. By that time, I was almost finished with my sandwich. Overall, I had an average experience. I would go there again justfor the pastries, they were absolutely delicious. Read more
Cute cafe. Quick service. However, the food was overall okay and it wasn?t hot when it came out. Tomato soup was too sweet and... green beans had no flavor. Coffee was super strong too and pastries were alright. The only dish that was pretty good was themashed potatoes. For the price, just not worth it. Nice new experience though. Read more
Ah the taste of home cooked French countryside meals. The portions are good and the food is filling. All meals came out hot, or... cold respectively. The ladies behind the counter are polite each time we go, and make good suggestions or answer any questionsas well. If you've never been, you should go. Parking is in the garage just around the corner. Read more
Enjoy the food at this location although sometimes the potato galette can be really stale and old. Staff could use a little more... training during busier hours as well. I came to this location because of its convenience of being inside the fountains. Read more
