Reviews for Great American Steakhouse in El Paso, TX
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I ordered the top sirloin steak to go and was given a thin veined skirt steak... instead. Skirt steak is inexpensive and not tender at all. The management should admit that times are tough and raise pricesalready so we can eat real top sirloin. I'm not sure how they think they can fool us and charge so much. I ate the food but itwas not worth the price. If your going here skip the steak, the burgers are still good. Read more
My wife and I just had dinner and we were both amazed on how awesome they remodeled the restaurant with all open area. I had... the top sirloin which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, beans were awesome, my wife's chicken sandwich was delicious along withthe shrimp cocktail. Our server, Katia, was outstanding and made sure we were doing well all the time. Thank you Katia fortaking care of us. Read more
Definitely pricy, but also definitely worth it for maybe a once a month dinner with family if you are looking for "fancy"... dinner. Also, a big place and enough servers around. Does take time for food to arrive to your table after ordering, but keep inmind they cook to order. So, just remember that and to order appetizers if you go there really hungry. Read more
Nice area and location with lots of variety. This location looks like it has a remodel happening. The placement of the entrance... is oddly set. The front of the restaurant facing the street is actually the take out curbside delivery door, so made finding theentrance a bit cumbersome. The decor and ambiance is a modern farmhouse bistro style inside with nice nuances, but in some areaslooks a bit unfinished unlike the airway location. The service was good that was provided by the waiter but the food was a bitslow to come out. Even so the food was pretty delicious. I had the brisket moist with BBQ sauce and my family had burgers.Everyone was very happy with their meals. I noticed the manager walking around, he was very selective about who he spoke withand wasn't concerned with all patrons, definitely a shortfall on his end. The food was great but service and time management iswhere this restaurant has an opportunity to grow and improve. Other than that it's a place I would go again, but wouldn't missit if I didn't either, nothing made this a memorable experience. Read more
As always, just an overall great experience. Food is always on point and just as I ordered it; good variety of drinks, staff is... very friendly and the music choices are always fantastic. Will definitely visit again soon. Read more
Every time we come into town we usually have to eat at Great American on George Dieter. Home town favorite we miss. It’s... usually very good and a restaurant we enjoy eating at. However, we decided to order pick up. That was a major mistake. First ittook over an hour to get the food from the time we placed the order over the phone till they actually handed me the food. Mindyou this was a Thursday evening, not Friday, and not a busy Saturday night. How disappointing. Second, have you all ever tastedburnt baked potato? Well that’s basically what 3 members of my family received. Not sure who was manning the spuds here but aclear miss. Don’t get me started on the steak fries, the complete opposite way under cooked. The other food was meh. It painsme to score it this way but no choice. Great American management need to be aware and pay attention to details like they usedwith “Great” customer service and exceptional food of the past. Hope this is a one off. Probably will take a break next timewe are in town. Read more
Went for lunch and were not disappointed. I had the bone in New York and my wife had the sirloin. Both dishes were perfectly... cooked and seasoned. I had the mashed potatoes with brown gravy and my wife had the steak fries. Looks like they’re remodelingbut didn’t notice any extra noise and it was well sectioned off. Thanks for a delicious meal. Oh my gosh it was great all the way around. So good I forgot to take pictures of the food. ???? We were driving around the ... saturday after Thanksgiving in the evening. Of course everything was packed. So we decided on Great American. We left ourcell # and waited comfortably in our vehicle about 20 minutes. We started with drinks and nachos which I did take pictures of. It did take a while to get served but that was expected. My husband and I had the rib eye sandwich and substituted the frieswith a baked potato which was very hearty. My daughter had the beer battered shrimp with fries. My son had a 16 oz rib eyewith fries and it came with beans and coleslaw. Everything was delicious!! Anthony our waiter came around often to make sure wewere fine and kept the bread coming????
