Reviews for Anointed Cuisine: A Taste Of Africa in El Paso, TX
Today I tried fufu, Egusi, and jerk chicken for the first time. The waiter was a little shy, but took our order and explained... the menu. The food was made fresh and didn’t take long. The experience was great, the food was amazing and I would recommendthis restaurant. Read more
I loved the food experience and I will probably be back! That being said there are things I’d like to identify. My first time... getting here years ago was a little sketch, the building looks sketch. Getting in you have to make effort. You sit yourself andfind a menu and wait 5-10 min or ring the bell. The wait for food to be made is pretty long. So be ready to busy yourself, thisis not fast food. When you do get your food, the food is great. My first time I went with friends who were born and raised inAfrica. The enjoyed it very much! The tomato soup is yummy and the swallows are very cool and well made. The plantains and riceis great. The ananas drink (pineapple is ????) The price is a little high in my opinion. Read more
Worst service ever!! No greeting when coming inside and not a single person to see. Went to the counter to order and was rushed... by guest behind me as well as the worker. Ordered fried goat and when looking at the receipt it was stew. Charge to change itwould have been $5 when it was not even what I ordered. Fast forward have been waiting on my food for one hour now and amrefused a refund as it states on a sign behind the counter to make sure to order right. Definitely not recommending this placeto anybody and will not return. Read more
Not what it used to be. Used to be better Price went up Food portion cut in half, even the fish serving size is sliced in half,... stew portion is too little. Goat meat had a smell (kept for too long). Had to end up eating my own home cooked meal. Expensiveand too little portion Would have been okay if it's Expensive and remains the same portion. Read more
Very friendly staff. I never had African food before, they were patient with me while we figured out what I should get. I got... Egusi and fufu because that’s the only 2 things I have heard of before. It was really good! For my first experience withAfrican food I would recommend it. Read more
I was so hype about trying African food. I’m not sure if I don’t like African food or if I just don’t like this place. The... meat was tough and flavorless. I tried 3 different soups and they tasted the same. Since it’s the only place in El Paso, Iwon’t be trying African food again til I leave El Paso. Lol. 4/10. Read more
We came to the restaurant after being warned it was too slow for lunch time. We should've heeded that warning. We were the only... people in the restaurant and the wait for food would have you thinking they had to catch and kill and defeather the chicken justto make your meal. The waiter did not know the menu and was unbelievably unenthusiastic about doing ANYTHING. I almost got upand got my own bottled drink out of the to go refrigerator. The food you got plenty of but was mediocre at best and averagelypriced. They also brought out the deep fried yet cold plantain like appetizers (complimentary- 1 per person) that kind of ruinedyour palette with the after taste as you waited 40-45 for your food. Probably wont go back. Read more
I've come here 2 times and I can't wait to go again. The food is really delicious and the owners are so nice. They even gave us... some free chin chin with our orders (we finished it in a day, it was SO good). Service is very accommodating, they made to-goorders last minute before closing. Prices are very fair. If I could come every day, I definitely would!! 10/10. P.S. Try theokro stew with ox tail. Read more
